Alright folks...this is the thread where you name what you think are the BEST versions of particular songs, and what you think are the WORST. You are not allowed to name an entire brand as best or worst. I'm looking for specific songs and a constructive discussion that will help people decide what to buy, or what to sing.

Here are a few of mine:

The best version of Heart's Barricuda: SGB (and I've tried them ALL)
The worst version of The Fugees Killing Me Softly - Sunfly
The worst version of Salt & Pepa's Shoop - That one is a tie: The worst music is Music Maestro. The worst sweeps is Sound Choice (what were they THINKING?!)
The best version of Peggy Lee's Fever: Priddis

Okay -- your turn.

Will have to disagree. All hits version of Paradise By The Dashboard Lights pails to the GEM series version. While it is entertaining to see the male struggle with the baseball monologue, the gem series does a decent job on it as part of the backing vocals. What is more the ending is complete unlike the all hits which only gives you the male side of it and does not include at least the female part as backing vocals.

I like doing the baseball part myself, since i already have a thick NY accent, and if the girl starts singing the guy part at the end, I will do the girl part. Works just as well.

Best version of Jewel's "Foolish Games" - Zoom

Best version of Beatles' "I Am The Walrus" - Zoom

Worst version of Bon Jovi "Livin On A Prayer" - AH (hurts my ears)

Best version of Johnny Cash's "One Piece At A Time" - SC

Worst Version of ANY tune: those PION versions (Pioneer I think it is. Sounds like 8-bit Nintendo!)

I happen to like using AH's version of Paradise By The Dashboard Lights because I fill in the baseball announcer when I'm hosting. People love it.

Which happens to be the same as Sunfly & SBI musically.

Disagree, Pioneer was quite often spot on with MOST of their recordings, just low volumed.

Pioneer and U-Best had a version too, SC was better of all of them.

Best version of CCR - Born on The Bayou SC
Worst version HANDS DOWN - Music Maestro - not even recognizable as a song!!!!

Best Version of Styx - Come Sail Away - SC
Worst again HANDS DOWN - Music Maestro, not only music terrible, they cut more than 3 minutes off taking out verses & choruses.

I wouldn't consider singing them. They so pale in comparison, I would rather sing another song.

I'm thinking the Amerising and Priddis version use the same base track musically. Amerisings version is eq'd a little brighter & much louder volume wise, otherwise I believe they are the same.

Which is why they are a close second. The lyrics are off slightly on the Amerising version while Priddis was perfectly done. Every word on the screen is what Steve Perry sang.

1) You really have to listen to the old Top Tunes TU-66. Blows SC out of the water. As a matter of fact, ANY of their holiday discs ( Including Irish for St. Patrick's Day) are - IMHO- the best.

2) Completely agree. If I HAVE TO listen to PBTDL, All Hits is by far the best..

While also available on KJT-7, SPC-8 & 37 ( all three the same track), as well as DK-9, I would strongly urge you to give a listen to ( If you can find it) Top Tunes TUFP-32-R, which knock SC's version into the mud...
