Hey Everyone, another one of my questions for you kj's who have been doing this for a lot longer than me. Just got the 12,000+ tracks from Chartbuster and have them all changed over etc. and now for the real work I guess . After loading them etc. and making books etc. I am surprised at a lot of stuff I don't have and at tonight's show somebody asked for some prince...There is no prince so when I get home I go looking for some prince and found a cd being sold that is all prince and it was by Chartbuster (Chartbusters CB40129) so wondering if this was something that was missed as I thought I was getting all of their tracks that they have made. I have read on here that they have pulled some because of licensing but I hope it is not a lot of the better stuff. So here are the questions I would like to ask going forward and especially for the folks who have bought this package from Chartbuster: What do you consider the best way going forward for filling in the cracks? I would also like to make sure that I have some decent Motown, Soul etc. so who would be the best option for that? All I had was the SGB set and some odds and ends we had bought on the system so that is what I have with this set I just purchased. Any help as always would be much appreciated. I do not own any Sound Choice but they do have some things I think would help but here is a question on that, without RENTING there 6,000 track special they have going can a person by a few disc here and there and use them and be ok? Thanks for Any Replies, evilstepdad

One other question, where would be the best place for tracs by snoop dog etc.? Talking about selection and quality, I can probably search and search and eventually find some stuff and I have but what about the quality of the tracs?
Thanks

Check at kjpro.com, no one brand has much...As far as the CB12000 it's has alot of good country but lacking in others genres. You may want to get the Gem also, it covers most of what CB lacks. Check out Allstar custom CD's also...

It could simply be licensing issues. What they had for discs may not have been available for this format. However i've learned YEARS ago to never rely on one specific company for all genres or bands, even if they were available, doesn't mean they still are.

After buying the CB 12,000, I am happy that I already had lots of other manu's (SC, THM, MM, Priddis, DK, SGB and some odds 'n ends) and even a decent size CB library in the first place. The 12,000 seemed like a small number of tracks for it to be an "entire" library. To fill cracks, I have decided to stay with CB & SC as much as I can.. so, I've been on ebay and the custom site to get discs at fairly good prices (custom is not 'good' price but I can get songs that I want without buying songs I already have). If you don't get the answers you're looking for right away.. be sure to keep checking back and asking. There are a good amount of KJ's here that know where to go for those good deals. I don't have that great of a memory anymore!! But the people here even know which manufacturer is the best for a particular song!!

While running my library through the SongListCreator program tonight, I found some of the tracks from the 12,000 CB drive actually had two mp3's to one cdg file. I don't know if I somehow did this myself... can't figure how I would have since I just copied CB's drive directly into a CBhd folder to keep it separate from the tracks I own on cd. I'm gonna do a thorough count of the original hard drive now though!!

Well, just to show I am truly blonde... the 12,000 CB drive has 12,354 mp3 & 12,355 cdg. There's an mp3 missing somewhere.. BUT somehow I messed up my data base ... dang it. Probably somewhere when I was adding DiscID to the files.. though that doesn't make sense either. I'm so sick of trying to get this whole thing straight... took out all my CB's, then added the 12,000, then realized that I have discs to lots and lots of songs not included on the 12,000, SO... .I typed and typed to get my 'owned' tracks back into the library... THEN my bosses wife hands me 15 CB discs that she 'found'... yes, there were more songs I had to rip. I didn't realize how much I had jumped the gun last week when I printed new books. I thought I'd just add an addendum but now.. I think I'm going to have to do a major organization so that I know what's what and just print books again!!

Lisa I've always had one extra file after moving them. I have 6006 songs and 12,013 files. I think its a files error list.

After cleaning up and going through all the files on the CB 12,000+ hard drive I ended up with 12,105 songs. There were some doubles (even though it was not supposed to have duplicate songs) named wrong, etc.

Yeah, I'm not finding that 'extra' file. I'm not finished scouring, but so far it looks like the hard drive has 11,026 songs.... that's probably why they give the so-called bonus cd's. I'm going to actually count how many of the CBhard drive songs I already had... er.. maybe I don't wanna know... I'm not in the mood for causing a stink over this, but it is disappointing. I trusted that I was getting 12,000 plus bonus'. Though I should've known better, IF the 12,000 is their entire library, the bonus cd's would have to be duplicate songs.

Like Lonman said, that's exactly why there are songs on some disks, that are not included on the hard drive. Hence the give away, because they can't sell them anymore.

The giveaway is good and we can sell them unless we are CB dealers, which I'd bet most of us aren't It is too bad that Garth and others pulled their permissions. I don't get calls for Garth anymore unless it's 'Friends In Low Places'. I'm not a country girl.. .has he had any hits recently?

This is a bummer because I think he has some great music and he is a good singer entertainer. -Chris

Don't know about recent. But I also get requests for "Thunder Rolls", "The Dance", "If Tomorrow Never Comes", "Learning To Live Again", "Rodeo" and "Shameless". Could just be an area thing...

I used to get most of those, but not anymore... and maybe that's a good thing Garth has a beautiful voice.. when I do hear it, I enjoy it.. but karaoke slow songs can be painful to listen to!! *why is it that inexperienced people sing slow songs* They think it's easier but usually, NOT!

And then we have to tell them what a good job they did AND they believe me!! I shoulda been an actress ... pays more! But it's almost like having children.... they have so much fun, ya have to feel good about it.

Along with those you listed, these also get done occasionally Ain't Going Down, Standing Outside The Fire, Two Pina Colodas.
