For many years now I have updated my karaoke songs every six months using Chartbuster's best of that year hits. I don't like to update monthly as it enlarges my songbook with songs that do not get used by singers. The Chartbuster hits were a great bang for the buck. Is there a company with good quality songs that updates semi annually? How are you updating your songbook now?

All of this just happened. Before you go looking for other outlets, why not wait to see what happens with Digitrax. They may offer the same service as CB. They may be even better. It's way too early to just give up on CB.

I update monthly with PHM & All Star. Then whatever singer requests I get for the 'non' current songs.

I'm with Lon. Same thing. Often enough im adding weekly, maybe just one disc I found on sale but it's agrovating to keep my "just added" pages to a minimum. I wish it were plausible to be completely book free. But it is not.

I update all my web/phone access sites first - the day I get anything new, then my in house books like once every couple weeks with a new list compilation.

Joe:

You keep pushing Karaoke Kurrents but where can you buy them?

The only place I have seen is Ebay and they really look questionable, and the latest thing I have seen is from 2011, so where are YOU getting them?

I've been reading the posts on allstar karaoke ecards. The walmart card looks great. With the holidays approaching I need to update my song list. Does anyone have a list of hits for 2012. I need both country and pop.

It has been my experience that when you ask a direct question as to the source of Karaoke Kurrents, Joe C. will not give you a direct answer.

I also would like to know where the "Kurrent" is in Karaoke Kurrents.

For Lone: I don't push them, I just use them. You asked for a source of country, and I gave you one.

For MtnKaraoke: I have answered this question several times, including from you. Your "experiece" has been mis-remembered.

I can only find them on line. There are at least 4 different counterfeit sets produced out there as well. Each of my sources has, at some time or another sent me bad discs. They have all also sent me genuine factory originals.

Though all have resolved any counterfeit problems with me, I do not feel comfortable recommending any on site that may or may not send an original set.

Do you remember now?

I also posted long and concise instructions on how to tell if the discs are originals or fakes. I had to do this because they are probably the most counterfeited sets out there right now. I said that I have yet to find the exact location of the new SuperCore factory ( the makers of Karaoke Kurrents and All Country Hits- the actual country recommendation that I gave). If any of you non-Luddite internet whiz-type folks can do better, have at it, and let me know. I also stated that I believe they have moved to Asia.

I have also stated for the license concious that as a manufacturers' original dic based host, I do not bear the onus or legal liabilityof any manufactures' licensing problems, hosts that have shifted their tracks to PC MAY bear mor legal liability.

I also posted the the only time I bring up licensing is in regard to SC, because they are the only pot calling the kettle black, and because it could weaken their case.

I also posted that at the very least any supplier should post a pic of their product, and anyone who doesn't is suspect.

I also posted that though I like their country tracks, I still thought CB's were better.

I have have posted all of this in whole or part on several different threads AND several different forums.

Any of this coming back to you? No? Ah, well.....
Since the last post from me regarding this brand was back in May, and it's now the last day of September, I figure you just posted to break horns anyway......

Joe, before I posted, I went back and read through our (yours and mine) posts on this very subject.

"eBay" and non-specific vendors and the licensing shuffle do not quantify as "direct" answers.

Frankly, if EVERY source you have received these discs from has sent you counterfeits, I could see why you wouldn't be confident in the product and would start to dissemble with regards to their legitimacy.

I also believe that it would be to all KJ's advantage to have knowledge regarding these sources so that they could stipulate that they only wish to purchase factory originals up front to these sellers as to make them aware that they should, under no circumstances, distribute counterfeit product.

Maybe you could send them your info on how do determine counterfeits so that they can figure it out before they send you any (more).

My "experiece" stands. You've simply re-affirmed what I stated.

I'll refrain from insinuations regarding your mental acuity.

I've got some 4" rolls of gaffer's tape, we'll have those horns working again in a jiffy!

Then don't recommend them. Just list the sites and say "I wouldn't buy from them, but here they are. Use at your own risk".

Unless of course this mystery list never existed in the first place.

The reason I have had trouble with giving a reliable source is that I have received both fake and real sets from the same vendors, though no one gave me a problem about returning my money.

Here's two of many suppliers that were somewhat more than reliable than most:

On E-bay ( which Cue says doesn't count, but I'm giving it anyway) is Karaoke Korner ( aks sallysells frank).

My best suggestion is still E-bay: Karaoke Korner and SharonKaraoke
OFF E-BAY, the best known source would be karaoke surplus.com

As for 2012 music- still waiting myself.

With regard to the E-Bay site, I believe Joe C. is stating that EVEN THO he HAS RECEIVED Counterfeit Discs from these vendors, the names/sellers he has listed above for e-bay have proven to be the most reliable for him.

As for karaokesurplus.com, this site does not exist as a website. It brings you to almost 27 million different sites in a Yahoo Search... the first being E-Bay.

And just keep in mind this...

Screw off. I owe absolutely no one my music sources. I try to be helpful if I can, but NO ONE is OWED any information. We try to help here because the forum is a place to exchange information, but if one is going to be rude about it, then one deserves nothing. If you don't like the E-bay sites, and karaoke surplus is a dead site, then buy your music elsewhere- not my problem.

Hey! You guys better stop picking on Joe C. or you'll get a stern talking to. LOL and they'll lock the thread too. Apparently challenging anything posted by Joe C. is tantamount to kicking a puppy.

I just did some checking. Apparently, SUPERCORE/Karaoke Kurrents became FAST TRAX and now it seems that FAST TRAX has become Singers Solutions karaoke. Just one more karaoke company trying to stay one step ahead of the law.

Looks like the All Country brand looks identical to the latest Big Hitz Brand. More shell game tactics. Catch them if you can. Reminds me of the old days.....ALL HITS, DANGEROUS, HELLUVA, AMERICAN GOLD, ETC. jUST KEEP CHANGING NAMES AND RELABELING THE TRACKS TO SUCKER PEOPLE INTO THINKING THAT THEY ARE GETTING SOMETHING NEW THAT MIGHT BE BETTER THAN WHAT THEY ALREADY HAVE.

I'm it's my acuity in question. Please note the following from my post:

"Though all have resolved any counterfeit problems with me, I do not feel comfortable recommending any on site that may or may not send an original set."

While this may show a lack of confidence in the the VENDORS, it in no indicates way a lack of confidence in the original manufacturers product. I'm not even sure how you could possibly reach that conclusion.

SuperCore has been around for over ten years and have been a part of my library since they came out. At that time- and up until recently- they have been available for retail sale from brick and mortar karaoke stores everywhere. I have purchased them retail from Conway NH to Daytona FL, and many stores in between. The fact is, until SC started up, nobody gave a fat rat's a$$ where a producer was located, or about the licensing problems that they had. They just went to the store and bought the discs.

Now most suppliers are online and producers sell through them. Anyone who is interested in the producers' details has no one to ask but Mr. Google. That's just the way it is. Being OMD based, my liability is extremely limited, and I simply don't care- but that doesn't mean one can't research a company if they so desire.

As a matter of fact, though All Star is being pushed all over the forum, I have no confidence in THEIR product. The few discs that I purchased at K-mart when they first came out were fairly awful. They have already had to make changes on their site, after originally claiming that their downloads were licensed for use in U.S. shows- no removed.

Here's a thought- the same one shared by pro-SC folks: If you don't want to use the brand, don't use it. No problem. I was attempting to suggest an answer to the OP's question. You know- be HELPFUL?

If you disagreed with my choice ( several months later), then the HELPFUL and INFORMATIVE thing to do would be to suggest other brands- wouldn't it?

I did even better, and there was no mystery. I said Google Karaoke Kurrents, or Check E-bay for a whole list of suppliers. Were these instructions too difficult?

You want one of the vendors I bought from because of the difficulty in doing the above? Try (-at your own risk and without my recommendation- Sallysellsfrank on e-bay. I am sorry, especially with the expertise that you have previously shared with us, that you weren't capable of looking that up on line.

I do note that these negative comments all come from the pro-SC folks that normally Joe-bash, along with my favorite personal forum troll.

That being said, I would advise the OP to take their posts with a pound of salt. They would argue with me if I said the sun will be there tomorrow. Also, please note that they have not provided any alternative suggestions or positive information.

They are here to bash me, not to be helpful or provide any useful information for you.

1) Your checking is a tad off. KJ Tools was bought out by SuperCore back in the day. The Supercore label, though dormant at the moment, still exists. This company produces Karaoke Kurrents and All Country.

It was Quik HitZ that became part of Fastrax ( Some fastrx discs still come with QH numbers on the label). This company, and the others that you mentioned have nothing to do with SuperCore or it's spin-offs.

2) Well, they moved overseas, so you may be right- making them no different from virtually EVERY OTHER karaoke company out there- or don't you remember SC's moving production to the UK and lawsuits, or CB' permanent injunction and lawsuits.

So far the ONLY two brands that I havent heard of getting sued ( and that doesn't mean they weren't) are Sybersound/Party Tyme and Pocket Songs.
