Just wondering how many of you sell swag at your shows. If not I highly recommend it.

I sell t-shirts, get them made for about $10 ea. Sell them for $20. Make a tidy profit but people don't feel like they're getting ripped off. (Helps to work mostly in a beach town where $20 for a t-shirt seems cheap by comparison.)

And I honestly cannot get kid's shirts printed fast enough to keep up with demand. You can get these for $6-7 and sell for $15.

I've also sold custom made hats with my logo (O'ke) which sold only OK.

Best promotional thing I ever did was get about 100 bumper decals with my logo and gave them out to anyone who sang. You can get these custom made for about $.60 ea. at many places on these here interwebs.

I tried selling CD's of people singing ($3 for one song, $5 for two) but I've never been able to burn one with success. Any recommendations?

Anyway, I've found it can create a nice bit of extra income by monetizing just about every aspect of my show. Anyone have any other suggestions I haven't thought of yet?

Yes, buy rubber bullets and stick batteries in them.

I can do recording but typically avoid it now, and never charged for it seeing as it is not really legally allowed. Unless someone was to bring a disc and sing a song off of that, then they own the original and can have a copy. I just loop the mixer output back to the computer and the results are very good.

I am not going to say anything about recording, because I never was real sure about the legalities of it. So I never did it.

But after looking around a bit, the Tascam DP-03 looks like it would do the job. 8 track input capable, with a CD burner built in. Looks like that would record nicely.

The 300.00 price tag might be a bit steep though.

Glow Sticks

People may think this is a joke, but one of my bars bought a tube of 50 of those glow-necklaces and was selling them for $1 each to raise money for charity. They sold them all in one night and bought three more tubes for the following week. I was surprised at the popularity.
