Got an email from Digitrax tonight with an invite to the beta test.

You have to sign a rather verbose NDA and wait for further instructions.

Should be interesting!

This is for the beta-test. I have beta tested products many times from many companies and you always have to sign an NDA, agree to give reports, etc. Standard procedure. Once it's open to the public, the need for an NDA goes away.

I haven't taken the time to read everything in full, but I'll play along. Definitely want to be part of any new innovations that pertain to karaoke.

The only that I can think of is that Digitrax will be offering streaming karaoke. And, isn't SC contemplating being part of Digitrax? What I see happening is that they are going to make it way easier to become a KJ (as far as the music goes) and offer such a crazy deal on it that even the pirates sign up for it. And, if you don't sign up for it and they find out about your karaoke show, they'll sue you if they know you're using one of their brands.

Something like that - and I'm willing to bet it's something like that.

If I had a multi-rig company I might be interested in a "karaoke cloud".

Interesting info -

The @karaokecloud.com domain has been active since July 2010. I imagine they were actually working on things before the domain was even registered. This has been in the works for a while. Let's hope with 2+ years of planning and dev they actually produce something worthwhile.

From their Non Disclosure Agreement:

Quote:
11. Gag Order. The Recipient whose signature and name appear below is enjoined from discussion or statements in any form, written, pictorial or verbal, whether by physical or electronic means known or unknown, and of any nature, about DTE products, services, pricing, offers, promotions, marketing, advertising or merchandising, for a period of sixty (60) days dating from the signature of the Recipient below, or until such time as the Recipient is released in writing from the Order by DTE or its authorized officer, whichever occurs first, with the exception of the Beta Test Report, as outlined below.

So, basically, for a 60 day period from the day you sign this NDA, you can't even discuss what exactly DigitraxKaraoke is beta-testing. You can't discuss how much you're paying for their product. You can't even tell the rest of us here (those that might not have signed this NDA) if there are any sales going on that we might want to jump on.

Pretty standard for an NDA. The whole point is to allow people to look at, test, provide feedback, while keeping the cat in the bag. Don't let competitors get an edge, and keep the excitement level high for prospective users.

I noticed the NDA was hosted on infusionsoft.com. Didn't infusionsoft play a part in the development of the KJMP HD?

Don't think so. Think Infusionsoft is an online marketing assistance outfit.

You are thinking of INVICION, the guys that make CompuHost, who developed the KJMP HD, and now wholly own and administer the KJMP HD.

If Chartbuster didn't have the legal rights to sell their tracks to CAVS; how can DTE have the rights to sell the same tracks to everyone? I guess they'll stay in business until they lose a law suit and then they'll go out of business too and then some other company. probably located in Australia, will somehow "OWN" the Chartbuster tracks.

Ahhh. The Circle of Life

CB was selling SCDG's to cavs that were not licensed in that format. I would assume that the 'new' entity would have to take care of licensing to sell for the existing library.
