I am going to do something I rarely do - go to karaoke the night before a presentation. I am in Boise, ID for one night and looking for suggestions if anyone has any. I spoke to the hotel clerks and they recommended - Quinn's Lounge - http://www.yelp.com/biz/quinns-lounge-boise Sunshine Lounge - http://jossunshinelounge.com/ (they don't have karaoke tonight) Terry's State Street Saloon - http://www.yelp.com/biz/terrys-state-st-saloon-boise Any other suggestions? -Chris |

I didn't see any of these listed in the Club Directory. http://karaokescene.com/directory/state ... country=US I will do a quick check to see if I can locate any others and I will post them there. Plus I will confirm these then add them to the Directory. If anyone knows of Karaoke at any venues anywhere - you can also add them. |

I ended up going to Quinn's (above) which was supposed to have a 9pm start time. The KJ started setting up at 9:15 and I heard a sound check at 9:30. No announcements, no "hey we start at xx:xx so come sign up", no nothing. The KJ sat at his PC doing whatever he was doing until 10p before I decided to take off. I dropped by another club, walked in, saw the KJ logged into an Karaoke Download iRC channel that I recognized and I turned around and walked out. Just plain not going to spend my money at a karaoke bar that does that. By that time it was close to 10:30 so I decided to head back to the hotel and read. -Chris "Boise Karaoke.....just don't..." |

That is unfortunate - maybe someone in the Boise area can provide some info on Clubs that do Karaoke right! |

Speaking from experience, if you won't patronize a show where the content appears to be illegal to a discerning eye, you are going to have trouble singing karaoke. There are one or two places -- some provinces of Canada as an example -- where it appears that legal karaoke is the order of the day. But in most areas I have been in, including dozens of states, 60% on the low end and 90% on the high end is the typical percentage of pirates. |
