Not a bad deal. I don't need them, but for someone who is looking for good quality and a reasonable price...this is worthwhile. I'm a fan of Pioneer.

Glad I could be of some help. I keep checking e-bay and CL every so often, in search of Pioneer CDG # 22 (and that's how I came upon the above).

Someone is going to get a really darned good deal. I put in a bid for the second set, but I had to stop at $100 because $150 including the shipping is all the money that I could afford to spend.

If i had more money I would have been willing to go much higher.

ah well was worth a shot

I think that a lot of people are just trying to get back some of their investment by selling off their original discs once they have put them onto a hard drive. That's why they only seem to get about 10 or 20 cents on the dollar. I wouldn't bother to sell my originals unless I could get close to full price. I'd rather just keep the originals unless I had no room to store them.

Every single person I have spoken to that has wanted to do that has eventually dropped their price. If it were possible to re-sell used discs or even new-sealed discs for close to their original value, I would drop KJ hosting in a heartbeat, buy discs in bulk, and resell. But the reality is, veryt, very few purchase at full retail any longer.

There is one guy I know that has been holding out for a year. I have spoken with him on the first Saturday of every month for 9 months now to see if he will sell. He is sitting on them and insisting someone will offer him 90% of original value. I wish him luck every month and offer him $2 per disc everytime.

He is out of town this weekend so I will be calling him next Saturday.... :)

"I think that a lot of people are just trying to get back some of their investment by selling off their original discs once they have put them onto a hard drive."

Then that is unquestionably piracy.

Exactly, however this is not a piracy thread, please do not turn it into one.

Well, when you talk to him, maybe you could ask him if he has the 4 discs I asked you about. I'd be willing to pay a lot more than $2 or $3 for each of those discs.

If I didn't already have basically 5 fulls sets of Chartbuster, I would pick this up. This is a very good deal especially if you host in an area where Country is more popular.

I have a prediction - it will go up near $1,000 or more. 500 discs at $2 each isn't a bad deal IMO. Especially for Chartbusters quality. I wonder what people are going to do when there are no more disc collection deals like this available or few and far between? The cloud? That's going to be the only choice? Not going to be good for those who come into this in a year or two or more. Fewer choices isn't good for US, fewer choices is good for the producers and big corporations.

The music from the 50s to lets say 1990s or 2000 is going to be sung for a long, long time-at least for another 10 years when I retire. As has been said by others here, much of the new music is difficult to sing or unsingable. I have a feeling collections aren't going to go down in value when people realize there will be no way to get the music other than through the cloud. I could be wrong, been wrong before, won't be the last time.

Please stay on track and not turn this thread into another debate about this vs that.
