I know this may be a silly topic, but we have covered most other things here. So I pose to you the question:
When you are running your show, do you sit or stand??
At my fill in show, I stand. We raise the height of our table with two milk crates and a plywood board. That is all covered by a black sheet, so you can't see the way it is set up. We don't use a boxed setup. I am setting up the same way. Still need a second table to hold the discs.
I plan on drilling a hole at the back of the table for the wires to go through. There will be a fitted black cloth over the table, that I am going to slit and finish stitch so all the wires will be hidden. It will be nice and neat.

Always standing mode when changing songs & when announcing.
The same goes while singing. Most of my singers grab a nearby stool. I read that sitting down compresses the gut & chest it's a struggle to sing the high notes thus harder to hit your full range. It’s something to do with the air flow & posture. Stand up unless there’s really a reason why you must sit while singing.
