Yep, I got the same message.
It just sends you to karaokecloud.com.
I tried, but could not find a listing anywhere of the songs.
There is a "browse available tracks" link, but there is nothing there but a search button that doesn't work. And still no information to be offered anywhere on their entire site.

I find it very odd that a company that wants to do their business through computers can't even get a proper working website going.
For me that raises serious questions of competence and reliability.

Just checked and I have all those listed That I need as well......Am checking to insure they are legit for Pro use also for any that may be interested. If anyone else can post verification it may be useful for others. 20 new songs available cost of 29.98 not a bad cost per song just under $1.50 per song

When I spoke with Gretchen Wednesday she told me yes, this was ok or pro use. However, I did not get anything in writing :P

I received the e-mail too. What was the $9.99/month that I read then?

Cueball, the only 9.99 a month I have seen was the monthly charge to sign up for "the Cloud for home users" maybe that was what you saw.

yes, the $9.99 / month is for home subscription to streaming.
could this mean that downloads ARE legal in the U.S.?

Paradigm Karaoke, that is the BIG question to be answered and researched :thinkin:

not trying to attack, but many here have been so sure for so long to jump down the throat of anyone mentioning the "d" word and now suddenly it seems fine as soon as someone in cahoots with SC says download. that was why i said it, i will be waiting for the official "everything but SC is good for pro use" letter as well.

I was wondering about that, because I saw something there that mentioned download your own CDGs. Now, if I'm going to download a file and burn it to a disc to use as CDG, you can bet that it's damn skippy I'm gonna add it to my library to use at a show I may host... especially since I am an ODB KJ.

Paradigm Karaoke,
I personally will follow up and insure licensing does allow for downloads for Pro use before I will use a download from ANYONE. The research I have done to this point is clear that DL are not legal for use in the US and Canada...I am open to the idea that this could have changed so I will take the time to do the research.

Cueball, I have never seen the build your own CDG statement but I may have missed it....in the UK there are manus that do not allow for a digital file to be burned to CDG. If you are looking to own your discs you may wish to look into All-Star customs...at 44 cents a song (if you use the Target cards) the price is certainly affordable. We try to get 3 copies(for 3 systems) of 3 customs as soon they have enough that we need available. Just got another 12 discs in last week :D I personally have found them to arrive quickly and cover those "flash in the pan" songs that are HOT right now very well....If a song has staying power and a better version comes along I can always replace it :D

What brand are these new cloudnet songs?
Are they making new music or just carrying fasttrax and others?

Dave....I do not have any idea...maybe someone who takes the plunge and buys these sets can tell us if they are repackaged or new tracks

Right here on the Home Page... http://www.karaokecloud.com/
It shows in BOLD PRINT - BURN CUSTOM CD+Gs

What does that mean? And for whom? And for what type of use? I'm sorry, but if the website is claiming that they are making this sort of thing available, then I see no reason not to be able to use them for professional use. After all, If I were to bring those burns to someone else's show to sing from, they're still MY DISCS, and for my PERSONAL USE, so I see no difference if some KJ were to use the same service to create new tracks for his/her show.

Post subject:  Re: the cloud hits of the month

Cueball,

I would have to assume that would be for home use only ....the only "Cloud product" currently is the "home use" and T.O.S (when you sign in you have to agree) state not for Professional use. They have not even released beta testing on "Cloud Pro" yet to the best of my knowledge.

As far as "personal use" burned CD+G's ....well suffice to say at least at my shows they will be in the same category as any other burns and will not get played.....have to protect myself and my venues.

Thank you for pointing out where you saw it as I did miss it.
