Ok, this week's Genre is off and running (thanks to KJDenndogg )
Please take a moment and vote on what Genre you would like to see featured next week.
P.S These are only 10 Genre's, I cannot put all of them in the poll. It wouldnt let me
I thought we could add a new one each week. (There I go, thinking again )
If you have a favorite Genre and you do not see it listed, let me know and I will see that I add it next week.

Just as a change of pace, what about a week dedicated to Opera or Classical music? It could get very interesting to see what gets posted?

This should work then, eh? I don't see some of genres that I would like to see (bluegrass, Hard Rock Ballads, ragtime...) but we can always use our replies to get more specific.
I voted for Metal... but I'm sure there are plenty of folks that would pay to make sure that one DOES not become 'genre of the week'.

Mr. Webguru,
Could you please fix my obvious error in the poll. When I edited, it doubled my poll options.
I know, I have to learn to leave well enough alone.
Thanks!

I tried - I don't know what the heck happened
The only thing I know to do is delete them and try again...
All current votes would be lost...

I don't want to lose peoples votes and I am not sure what else to do so, I will leave it and we will just have to add the two and go with it. Sorry, everyone, my first Poll and I botched it.
You are still able to vote and your vote will count, so please let me know what you want to see as a Genre of the week.
Very Sorry!

I really don't mean to be a pain, but I would really like to see some people try to explore another side that they may never have tried. Why has the Classical genre constantly being ignored here?

You are not a pain You have a reasonable question that I will be happy to answer.
I did not ignore Classical, or any of the other Genre's that are not listed, to be biased. I simply could not list them all, so I rounded the list to 10. I can tell you that it will be listed at some time. As will all the others not on it right now,.
Showtunes, comedy or oldies will not be on the list for a month because they have been "Genre's of the week" already (if someone disagree with that judegement call, let me know)
I was going to see if the Webguru thought maybe "oldies" should be changed to be divided into eras (50's,60's,70's....ect.) We already have 80's.
As I said originally, if you have a favorite Genre that is not listed, let me know and I will see that it gets added soon. Since you asked for Classical, you can be sure it will be added next week.
Thanks for your input, I greatly appreciate it!

DyingMoose
I can only speak for myself but I think the problem with the Opera and Classical genre is that most people are not familiar with that style of music. Then there's the problem of finding Karaoke tracks. I for one wouldn't even know how to begin to find a song that I'm familiar enough with to try to sing and where to find tracks for it even if I thought I would like to try it. I have to admit it would be quite a challenge for someone like me who is very uneducated in that area.

Hello Everyone
Gotta say....having a genre to aspire to is a great thing...at least it gives me something to shoot for when I've run out of ideas
DyingMoose, I'd love to try something classical....but I don't think I could do it on short notice....assuming I could find a backing track...it'll take ME quite a bit of studying, if I'm gonna do it any justice....
But...I'm willing to give it a try
Perhaps we can set aside a week for this genre in the near future...that way everyone can try it??? I'm thinking 6-8 weeks out...because that's about how long it would take me....but that's just me, I'm not a quickstudy....however I AM VERY OPEN to the challenge of something new.
Your thoughts???
Emma
