Do we have any proof that ALL STAR KARAOKE has paid all of the proper fees to produce these tracks? It seems that at the prices they are selling songs at, it would be nearly impossible to make a profit if all of the needed licenses were being paid for. That seemed to be what logic certain investigators have been using to accuse some hard drive sellers of piracy. "If you're selling songs at that low of a price, they must be illegal."

Every track I have spot checked appears to be properly licensed ( if you are using these for professional use the site does advise custom CDG NOT downloads.)

earl...you can go to http://www.allstarcustom.com/ and click create custom CDG to see the list without having a card code.......then exit go back in after you have the code and click redeem card and select your songs.

So, is that what you are doing now?? You are checking every song you buy to see if it's licensed?? How tedious and unnecessary. It's like total overkill. Not to mention you are taking all the fun out of it. What you are doing sounds too much like work. LOL.

No Smoothedge....I have been spot checking a song or two every month from the new releases. So far they have all come back licensed. If I start to have any come back unlicensed I will either check every song before I order OR stop purchasing from them. That is they way I feel comfortable in protecting my business.

They can't do anything to your business for using unlicensed music. They can only go after the mfr of the karaoke music. You, as the KJ did what you were supposed to do. You bought music. What is a publisher going to get from you? You own one copy of that music. The karaoke mfr owns THOUSANDS and is distributing them. That is where the money is, not with the KJ. See this is why I will not let SC and Kurt Slep get into my head. I don't want to live like that, having to look over my shoulder over every little issue that comes up. That would take all the fun out running a karaoke show, if I had to wonder, at all times, who is lurking in the corner trying to sue me.

well they actually CAN come after me....I will not have any surprises come up to bite me in the (@$%&#!) again. And I don't want anyone to ever get bit if I can stop it from happening :D That's why I still come here and post....I would LOVE for downloads to be legal...it would be much easier for EVERYBODY involved. :mrgreen:

Athena, record producers are not interested in you or what downloads you have. Homeland Security isn't going to come after you either, for using UK downloads. Ok, technically speaking, yes record producers COULD come after you, but for what?? What can they get from you?? It would be pointless for them to come after you. They want to go after the money, not some KJ company. They go after the big names like SC and CB. They don't care about Joe Schmoe's Karaoke.

I dont EVEN want to be told I can't use my downloads and I have been told by many that owning my tracks on original CDG insulates me from problems....so I will pay a bit more and order my customs :D
