Aftrer retiring you tend to spend your money unwiselly.. I got the Sonar 3 producer And recorded A good singer today...With the delta 44 sound card I can record mic1 plus mic1 compressed and using S&d or Winamp record karaoke on seperate channel record the music b 4 it comes out of the computer and at the same time record whats coming out of the dfx12 full effects. using an additional audio track.

I have found it is better to record no effects with one channel mix out (using the m-audio mixer) every thing muted except Wave inputs Left in 3/4 for the mic input (can also add audio channel in sonar with Sonitux /fx compressor and record mic in with full compression ) Then balance or set vol on mic inputs with both channels.

Once I get the vocal dry with no effects and music no effects then I can add efx to vocal or music with sonar or runnin thru mixer again It took this old man a few weeks to figure this stuff out Now I need to get her on singers forum Sound complicated ? It is ... If you want detailed in structions send me an IM

I am beating the drums for the seniors .and all the folks that love life.......

Way to go....it sounds like you've found youself a good hobby and you are in very good company. It's never too late to learn something new and with this recording thing you will find there is always something new and exciting. I'm just learning about it myself and I'm amazed at what can be done with a simple system. You can also spend some serious money if you want to. You don't really have to tho to get good sound. It's all a matter of preference (and budget). I say if you like the gadgets (most guys do) and can afford them.....why not have a little fun with it.
