got an email invite to sign-up for membership - Digitrax with special offer of free 300 songs.
“We'd like to send you an email from time to time (no more than once per week), and in return for the privilege, we're offering you 300 songs to sing anytime (four in the morning is fine with us), anywhere (including your neighbor's back patio), and on any device (even the public library computers work great)”. No thanks!.

Plus, though the songs are "free", I'm going to jump to a conclusion and guess that one would have to subscribe to keep using them.....

I received the same e-mail, and depending what those 300 songs consist of (is it of your own choice from their full library, or just a select number of songs that they are offering for free?), it might be worth it. See my post here (at 5:39 PM on 10/11/2012): viewtopic.php?f=11&t=25501&start=20

Well technically you never own the music, only the format it's supplied on originally.

It's all about the price and making money for my business, not collecting obsolete discs to display on a shelf to my grand kids. I want the best songs for the lowest price. Unfortunately, Digitrax is not that way. Still too expensive for pro use.

I am running a business and want to maximize my profit now instead of spending triple for music and hoping that when I retire I can make money on obsolete technology. Music costs are only going down. Your 3000+ coasters you paid a premium for today will only cost pennies in 2032. Still, the cloud is a great idea but way too expensive.

the email i believe has to do with the home cloud not the pro. In my opinion $9.99 isn't too much for home use.

I'm pretty sure that by 2032 I won't be doing much partying at all.
