OK, now that the Cloud is up and running, and now that we know just how expensive that monthly "rental" fee is, I thought it might be interesting to see just how many people, if any, have subscribed to it. There are only two answers.

Time will tell, but with exceptions, and new content, maybe some of the "NO(s)" will see value in Digitrax... I for one will " hide & watch ". No For Now!

ODB and not PC, but could only see this as a drain on my profits. Never happening.

The product does have value for new hosts getting into the business on a tight budget. I personally would prefer at this time to continue to purchase my discs. At sometime in the future additional benefits may become available and my feelings may change.

Wrong.... There is an alternative (3rd) answer.

See my post here (at 5:39 PM on 10/11/2012):

Since I have (in the past) paid about $50 per Custom Disc from SBI Karaoke (with 15 songs on a disc), I think paying $30 for custom tracks (15 songs) from this service would be worth it for me.

one other issue i have noticed for pro's at least is that they do not say which manu the song is from. it just says "Dance, The - Garth Brooks. yo dont know if you are getting SF, DK, CB, etc. that seems like something to be addressed at least for the pro side.

Not ahance in H-E-double hockey sticks.
I want my discs as backup in case something goes wrong. With this, I stop paying and I have zero to show for it, kind of like the gem collection, incidentally. Not a good business decision.

I am just starting out, and the money isn't there for me to have a collection I would like to have, right now, but there is no way I would EVER pay $199, $99, or even $59 a month to get nothing in return. I like to own what I pay for.

18 Votes, and 100% no. I believe they may have to do a little fine tuning on this product.

When I’m old & gray (wait, I’m that already) and retire from this business I can still enjoy the fruits of my labor & continue doing karaoke in the retirement home from my bought & owned karaoke cds. My set-up will not be as flashy, maybe just a laptop, one pa monitor & one mic. Easy to retrieve from under my wheelchair.

Ain’t gonna happen to new KJ’s opted for subscription service. Once they quit the business 15-20 yrs, the money they invested will just vanish into thin “cloud” and nothing to show for. It will be a long investment with no return.

And in that 15-20 years- assuming the fee doesn't go up ( uh, huh), they will have paid $36,000.00 - $48,000.00 for that vanished library. No equity, no nothing. Just gone. Of course, they will also have lost all of the interst on that money.

When I retire, at least I can sell my business. When I hit the nursing home, I plan on being the bouncer, not the KJ.... 8) Let someone else deal with my crotchety old singin' self...

didn't put in a vote because I'm rarely a yes or no kind of person.

My option would be I MIGHT use the pro service if soundchoice was involved AND it was a LOT cheaper. My upper limit would be around $80/month and I would have to be doing multiple gigs/week to justify that.

For now, its all moot anyway cause I'm not currently working.. :(

What about what I had posted? If you pay the $1.99 per downloaded song/track, and then burn it to a disc, don't you own that?

At 20 a month, maybe (depends on the content). I might would go 30 or 40 if the selection was super duper and I was OK with the manufactures who were on board. As of today, NO strictly based on principle.

Still a rip-off. Why don't you get a card like this one: http://www.walmart.com/ip/AllStarCustom.com-Karaoke-eCard-20-Email-Delivery/21310093 and get 45 songs for 20 bucks. All-Star has come a long way and their new stuff has been great. So, like I said, any way you look at it, the Cloud is still a rip-off.
