Available @ sc: All Star Monthly cdgs $17.99, Karaoke Channel downloads (not entirely new) & coming soon, PCK-4000 karaoke multi-format standalone recorder/player. Who said SC is broke & in their last dying breath?.................... “and from the ashes, a fledgling Phoenix rises…….renewed & reborn”. Word of warning to electronics manufacturers: don’t even think of copying or cloning their pck-4000. http://www.soundchoicestore.com/(window ads switches back & forth)

I don't know anything about the PCK-4000, but the original PCK- 1000 was a terrific workhorse, and I had it for many years. Even I can't complain about it.
However, the Performer's Choice players were made FOR SC, not by them. They would probably just act as online retailers.
I admit confusion in regard to the All Star tracks being on an SC sight. Would anyone care to throw some light??

I’m at a loss for words, except for “ohhh, how the mighty has fallen”. It can go vice-versa whichever you prefer. Hold it now, guys. Before you get upset I use All Star cd’s & downloads too. Passable in quality. They’re the only one affordable. $20 for 45 songs? Heck yeah! Walmart & Target, here I come!

...No doubt it's odd. I thought maybe someone had hacked the SC Site when I saw the All Star Karaoke Ad. I've only see All Star at KW, Target and Walmart. With the exception of the downloads that are offered directly from All Star Site. ...Could SC be partnering up with All Star? Is SC in the process of buying out one of their competitors? Is SC going to be selling just All Star Discs or offer downloads for personal home use only? Again, who knows? The more I learn the less I know! I'm beginning to get a little dizzy on this ride.

That would be a shame if AS partnered with SC. That would ruin them.

so since the allstar songs are now offered on the soundchoice website, does that mean they can include them in their lawsuits?

did anyone notice for the PCK-4000 it says on the ad "Download MP3+G karaoke files from the internet and play on the PCK-4000"?
" Who said SC is broke & in their last dying breath?" they're just selling someone elses discs for the same price as All Star themselves. Pocket songs is as well. this costs them nothing, but makes them a commission. sounds like a smart move, if you cant make your own, get paid to sell someone elses.

The good ol’ proverbial: if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. All Star & SC - have to admit it’s the weirdest manu(s) pairing if not merging et al. Who knows? Makes me wonder though if it’s a strategy to set forth plan in motion down the road All Star will also start suing kj’s for trademark infringement with sc’s backing. Just speculating, folks. No mean to step on sensitive toes.

Watch for it to happen SC will buy All-Star's trademark and thus squash the latest and greatest asset to KJ's. Then they will start suing those that have D/Led AS's music and showing the logo without permission.
Seems like not only do they want to OWN all the karaoke market they want to really ruin it for all KJ's thus making karaoke dead!

I'm just getting back into hosting after a long hiatus. Can someone bring me up to speed on what Sound Choice is doing that has everyone so upset? I thought you could still get a covenant not to sue if you proved you were 1:1 with an audit?

I thought you could still get a covenant not to sue if you proved you were 1:1 with an audit? They are suing pirates that have no discs, and those kj's that turn the other cheek towards an audit that feel they can do what they want with the product. Nothing more than they have been doing. Want to run from computer, 1:1 with an audit you are fine. Run from discs only, no audit nor covenant required!

But what is really ticking some off is SC is charging a whopping $150 for the audit to cover some of the costs.

I haven't heard anything about them being bought out or anything, but it wouldn't surprise me. The All Star tracks aren't listed in the search section yet though. And it isn't a redirect type link that pushes you over to All Star. Possibly like someone mentioned, just like an affiliate program where click-thrus generate a revenue kickback.
