This might be common knowledge for some folks, but I was given two thumbs up yesterday when I spoke with SC about their future. They are trying to get back to making music, what they do best (we joked and said that suing people can't pay their bills nor make a living, they agreed). No date was given just an assurance that it was coming and the direction they were headed.

I truly welcome this good news! And back at the helm, the Slep Brothers. Nothing’s wrong with that. SC gets 65% airplay in my shows. They were on top of the game from years back.

Everyone knows the techie gurus can always find ways to circumvent & defeat existing copy protection programs so I hope they will also concentrate on continued research for fool-proof, hack-proof copy method, be it cd’s or downloads. Employ these measures every time it’s compromised. Don’t ever embed ‘mediacloq” again (sorry, can’t resist).

Wishful thinking - maybe 4 yrs from now we will no longer discuss & debate topics regarding piracy.

It seems the only way to be viable in today's market is to offer your product via download. This should be very interesting to watch SC come back. It would be nice to have another current manufacturer to choose from but the question I have: Has SC tainted the water and left a bad taste in enough, not everyone mind you, but enough peoples mouth to become the "leader" they once were? Just because they decide to start producing tracks again and offer them in a way that is suitable to today's KJ, if things take another bad turn down the road, who would want to open themselves up to unwarranted lawsuits for whatever loophole they imagine up? Hmmmm ....

I dropped the label over 3 years ago but hold onto my discs. I'll eventually give them away once the sky's have cleared. My choice.

If you want to give them away, send them my way.

Boy this went OT quick...I'll say my investment in the Gem + 900 songs joilted our karaoke. That with investment in sound (EV), has every good singer in our city now in our camp... I will give a thumbs up to their finance. After 6 months I asked if they could spread it out over 24 months. Bing! I have a 136.00 a month payment... SC is about 85% of my english requests, CB and ASK pull up th rear. The problem with SC has never been anything other than thieft of service. I can say I'm helping them rebound...

It would be good to see their tracks on sites such as Select-a-track. Although that site does have some Karaoke Channel (rebranded Sound Choice) tracks, which I am lead to believe are strictly home use only.

Once upon a time their tracks were on Proburn. Now I, in the UK, have to send my money to Australia to get a custom CDG of tracks from Sound Choice, an American company!

It would be good to see them get back into production again.

I notice that on their New Releases tab, they show some All Star listings. What is All Star?

Either cds or downloads. http://www.allstarcustom.com/custom-step2.cfm

Pretty decent, not in the same league as sc or cb imho but great site for latest new releases.

Just recieved my discs from sound choice, not a lot left in their offerings but the All Star disc's sound pretty good so far. Seems like they will continue to add new releases from All Star. Talking with Sound Choice it does sound like they are still planing to get back in business making music. :D

if they have been listening they should get on top of it. that was my (and others) major complaint with SC.....they got the good versions of the right songs, but just 4,5,6 months too late.

Don’t think that would be a good move for sc to pick up where they left off. Most songs from 3 or 4 yrs back have already been released by various manus. I for one wouldn’t be interested in buying these tunes if I already have it.

What I’m looking forward to is for them to start making new popular top 40 monthly releases such as Pop, Country & Alternative Rock. Beat others to the punch & start releasing early. I’d like to see a no fee SC website that deals with digital downloads platform like Tricera for $2 per. Digital karaoke downloads are here to stay & will continue to expand & grow. They might as well embrace the innovation & go with the flow.

Ditto. They have been saying the same thing ever since they stopped producing new tracks. Not saying they won't, but will have to see it to believe it.

They make more money in settlements per KJ then they ever would selling them music, plus they are still forcing GEM sales through settlements and intimidation. I don't see any reason for them to make less money with new production until the other income sources dry up.

ESPECIALLY is those songs aren't even popular anymore. New songs have no longevity as back catalog stuff.

I'd personally rather them focus on requested songs that aren't out anywhere. This was their biggest lure IMO. The new songs of today pretty much suck, there are the occasional track that might need attention, but most, let the other manus take care of and focus on requests.
