Post subject:  Good karaoke software for a church?

Hi,

We tried a new church today. In the past, we went to a big church with a huge congrigation (I think that's what you call it.) It had a computer department. The technology was impressive with big projections with a karaoke type slides to follow when singing. It would have videos going in the background while the words pop up and colors fill the words as you sing.

This new church we visited today, the church is really small. We really like it. But they just have a powerpoint with the words on it. Me being new, didn't know the songs at all, so I didn't know what words I should be on and when I got to thinking I should figure this out. (I think there couldn't have been more than 20 people in the church during the sermon.)

So, I told them I am a computer guy. I work in IT. But I've never done anything with karaoke. I think that's the type of software they need. Does anyone know a really good professional looking karaoke software we could use? It really needs to be free seeing this church is so small, they don't have much money at all.

Follow this link and get Winamp, the karaoke plug in and the key change software -- it's all free.

Then you either need to rip karaoke discs with another free program such as Autograbber or buy downloads but be aware the karaoke manufacturers aren't real thrilled by people format shifting their cdgs. You definitely need to be 1:1 with a legitimate track on a disc for every file you put on the computer.

Or you could avoid all the potential legal hassle and buy an RSQ player - they'll play mp3s, cdgs, dvds, whatever.

Didn't sound like he wanted karaoke player, but more a karaoke builder - which isn't going to be found for free.

Ok, I didn't know there was a difference or there was such a thing as a karaoke builder. I just figured they were all the same thing. You built it and played it on the same software.

my church uses pro presenter... it's a suped up version of power point.... they use it for the custom video backgrounds and then do their own words overlayed on the video.

the entire video portion of the surmon is done from it......
