Oh Lordy, what a mess...

What I have here ia a RSQ 3 drawer...and a Phonic MM 1202 lil mixer...My hubby hooked me up using line in...got alot of issues, though seem to be working them out a little at a time, but oh my goodness what a mess....I just spent 4 hours fooling around here trying to get the settings good, and recording a song, lol...Now I have lost the vocals completely on the file...They look like they are there, but they cannot be heard..ekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk ready to throw all this out the window...I am a singer, not a guru....helppppppppppppppppppppp...

Also, I am recording everything at once....It seems to work ok that way and though I read Queen's method, I have certainly never heard of unzipping a cdg file...Had no clue they were zipped in the first place... helllllllllllllllllllp........I have found a way that shows the vocals and the music levels separatly even tho I could not begin to tell you how I did that, but I did...lol

Allstar, I know you are laughing your butt off at me....lol...and no doubt I prolly deserve it....BUT I NEED SOME HELP HERE!!!!! and I ain't asking, I am BEGGING....hellllllllllllllllllllllllllp...

Starting to wonder if I would be better off to throw the lil mixer out the window and just record thru the karaoke machine...Advice on that please...If anyone has access to what this phonic mm1202 looks like and has any setting help on it I am all ears for that too...tho I do seem to have found (by many trials and errors) some settings that seem to give me similar volumes on each.....

As far as effects messing with that after recording is a major pain and no setting sounds good which are preset....so I need a list of settings that seem standard to most if there is such a thing...all the preset standard offered ones all seem wierd sounding to me, some so much so that I deleted alot of them...

Any one who can please send me info that may help me, please....I have run a thousand tests trying to find settings that sound good and even, but I tell ya folks this isn't childs play...Yes, I am using headphones and a good sennheiser mic to save you asking...

I have about 6 different recording programs here including, but no limited to, lol...cool edit pro, creative's wave studio, Mixcraft which I actually like alot, cuz it updates the song without waiting) (but the trial period has expired so I need to purchase) Audacity, which I think Dale uses and he has promised to write to me tonight to tell me his method...Musicmatch, Bennison's all recorder, and yet another lil creative recorder as well.....so if any of you are a wizzbang at any of these or know bad factors about them, please advise...Then I can decide which programs to kill.

I read somewhere that the original recording always get saved somewhere....but guess what....I don't believe that lol, cuz I sure can't find my original from this afternoon....and yes I know how to save to folders, problem is whatever I did changed them all...

Now, my email is readily available so bring it on folks, or post here whatever you think may help me...cuz I NEED HELP.......I am willing to go with whichever recording program I can get the most good info on and learn how to use to my best advantage....I believe cool edit seems to be the most popular with SS folks, but currently it is not high on my list...It's a stinker that I cannot decypher thus far....and the one that stole my vocals today.

Hard to believe I KJ , huh? Everything I do is by ear there...If I knew what to hook up to my good equipment to record live, I would just do that, cuz I feel it would surely be easier....so if anyone has any info on that idea, share that too please...I can sing, no problem, I can hear, no problem, but all these pretty little buttons are driving me insane here___and folks it's a short drive..lol..

I own 3 plexter drives, and have means by which to convert wavs to mp3...That much I have figured out...

DID I MENTION I NEED HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP? :?:

SORRY to ramble on here with all these different topics, but my guess is you will give me many answers that way and these are all current problems to me....email or post what ever info you can help with...thanks..

That is not true! Sympathy yes, but laughing my butt off, no!

Without getting all complicated I suggest doing the following to start the EASY way.

Plug your mic into the karaoke machine, listen to yourself singing and record yourself like that with your favourite software. I can spend hours telling you how to do what, but we'd probably both be exhausted by then, and NO subs!

I never fool around with fancy recording techniques myself! :D One shot is what it takes. Get good mic levels on the karaoke machine, listen, and press the big red button. Once you're comfortable with that, we'll start looking at the fancy stuff, OK?

Now bring your subs along missy! :D
