Hi y'all..
Gee.. It's been quite a while since I've been over here on the forums. I have not been around much on SS as it is (until these past couple of days). I'm really liking this site, and missing many of the people who are only over here because of very WRONG things that have happened to them elsewhere (you know who you are ...huggggs). It seems my membership has expired on that "OTHER" site, which will not be named out of respect for this one. I'm thinking of throwing in the towel over there and "defecting" to this site, and becoming a full fledged member here. I've just felt more comfortable over here with y'all and there seems to be more communication and "life" to me over here. I never really did feel very comfortable with the people who were backing that other site, as evidence by some of their other questionable and evil websites. I'm gonna think about it a lil' bit more, but I think I've pretty much made up my mind to give this place a go as my main singing home.
Sorry if I'm rambling, it's just I've been up all night keeping track of the hurricane which hit my mom who lives near pensacola. I lost contact with her last night as the phone lines went down around 3 AM, so I'm a bit worried about her 
But anyways, hugggggs to y'all, and kudos to you for all the wonderful music and community here... I look forward to being more involved here with you good people

I am with you 100% in your statement (HUGSS to all jazzy is talking about, I still feel bad HUGGSSS)!
I have, myself, defected. I have made this my main singing home now too.
I miss a lot of the people over there too (Gilly!!) but, I like this place better as well, more communication, honesty, and definately a good man backing the site here (GO PHIL GO)!
I would love to see you here all the time. I miss hearing your lovely subs, as well as your amazing voice!
And, as soon as I get a house so I can sing LOUD, I will definately probably get a membership too. Then I can sub all I want!

JazzyBaggz, two things from the sometimes hated AllStar.
1. I hope that everything will work out after the hurricane, and I'm sure your mom is fine, and she is just as anxious to contact you!
2. This is a lively website, filled with a lot of emotions (things people can live without, but my wife does not agree with me on that  ).
I hope you stay here and become a full pledged member, which is also valid for ritisroo

as someone who ..well i didnt exactly defect ..it kinda defected me  ...ive found im much happier here..more peaceful..less stress...we can all say its just a website but every single voice we hear.a.nd every computer that subs their songs....is run b y a real life living breathin..eeeekkk human being... there is a way to treat people and a way not to..so far here..i konw ive been treated well..and actually most of the most awesome voices that were once there..are here so ur not exactly defecting..just relocating hugsssss
sayin prayer for ur mom ivan was pretty mean hugs gf.u will be on mymind and in my heart..keep us posted please..

Welllllllllll I guess I can't say I defected either Technically...this was my first home. Then Ms Jazzy came over and dangled a carrot and off i went....boy if I knew now then what I know now
Anyways....tho I'm not nearly as involved here as I was "elsewhere"....(can ya'll give me a Hallelujah??)...I am around. I don't get much chance to listen and comment on everyone (and for that I'm truly sorry!) but I do try to stay involved even a little bit.
It is good to see some friendly faces tho....Jazzy, Ritis, Kass, HEATHER (god I hope I didn't forget anyone here)....ya'll are wonderful ppl and ya know it!
Now I'm just gonna sit back twiddlin my thumbs until I have to leave to go to the airport to go pick up Atomic....(I only have 2 weeks to wait so i'll be twiddlin here awhile) WOO HOOO!

I too, am a defector from the other site (well, I might actually be considered a double-agent because I still retain a few ties to the other site), but I really like this site a lot better. All of you are so right when you say this is all about singing and not of politics. By the way, the nic that I go by here is obviously not what I used on the other site. Anybody want to take any guesses who I might be? (If you're interested)

hey guys, i'm spending most of my time here these days instead of the other place. i've remained only for the sake of a very few people over there who i value as friends, but they too are much less active at that place anymore. s.s. has been a great experience for me with some terrific folks, and i feel that i'm not only seeing old friends, but also making some great new ones.

So true for me too! Not only that... I like to save some of my favorite songs to a cd and I can't do that here! Ah well.... it IS faster here.. there are things I like and dislike at both places... and like Tim.... 2 things...
1. I know how you feel about your mom being in Pensacola. My parents, and my brother's family are there during this. And I'm 5000 miles away. Frustrating.... and worrisome...
2. If you're running a fairly recent version of Internet Exploder, er, Internet Explorer, you can access the files by clicking - Tools, Internet options, Settings (on the General Tab), view files. Click on size to sort by size and they should be in the 2-5MB range.
Why would you do this instead of going to c:\windows\temporary internet files? Because if you're running some newer operatings systems from a fresh install (XP, 2000) you'll find them in c:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files.
But Allstar is correct - on earlier operating systems and those that upgraded it is indeed located where he said.
Disclaimer: All bets are off if you're not using internet explorer. Opera, HotJava, Lynx, Netscape Navigator (and variants on the Mozilla code), and all others have their own places for storing these files.

Hey Jazzy.... I know what you're saying hon...
As for the certain people who run other *nasty* sites, we found out about yet another which was so bad it got shut down... run by the same person. I like it here, no c**p, unfortunately there's always going to be the odd person who won't let things lie, as I've recently found out.
But its great to see so many familiar faces over here, and I've noticed more and more arriving all the time... kinda says something huh?

I started at this site many moons ago (in the Discussion forum) and never really left... and I love the people here AND there... this is truly a great community and the other site has a lot of good people on it too! I know Jazzy was referring to the owner of the site mainly... but as far as the people go.... we are all one!
