Ok I have a few questions
1.: I have a Behringer eurorack mx1604a, and I would like to use this for my 2nd set up I know it does not have efx. What other hardware can I buy to add efx?
2.: Would it just be better to buy another mixer?
3.: is there some where I can go to find out what all the knobs and inserts etc... do?
if you have any links please click on my WWW at the bottom and go to my mesage board and let me know (I know you can't post links here) Post all links where it says links. Thanks alot.

You don't need to get rid of your mixer, you would just need an external effect processor. I won't make recommendations here & definately won't put a link or even an address here to help you find the answer to your problem.
I answered on your message board to give you the real info including links, anyone else interested can get the links there.

I really liked the Mackie DFX12... doesn't have the midrange, though.
The CFX12 that Lonman uses has it though... it's the next "better" model.
DO some searches... the DFX12 runs about $239 from a yahoo search!

Agree the DFX12 is a good board. It uses the same effects as the CFX12.

I have a 31 band dbx eq, will that help with the midrange? I really like that mixer.

The 31 band eq can be used, if you already have it, then definately put it in line. I would use it more for feedback control & a slight tonal shaping. Even though the DFX doesn't technically have midrange controls on the channels, you can fake it by lowering the lo's & highs a little, otherwise it also has a 5 band eq you could tap the midrange up if needed overall.

Check Ebay for listings on a CFX12 also. Recently, I picked up the CFX12 on Ebay for $335.00. It was barely, if at all, used. It did not come with the manual or the original packaging, but it was in pristine like new condition. The ad said it was tested once to verify that it worked and that seemed to be accurate. Besides, you can always download the manual from Mackie's website. However, you cannot go wrong with the DFX12.
Cheers
