...So, has anyone used this yet?

...I still use books and slips. Am not really set up for a Kiosk just yet. Just thought about using SongbooksLive instead of printing new books again, in the future. Perhaps just updates in the back of 3-4 books.

I only do private events now but I use it. $12 for the entire year, why wouldn't you?

I have a site going live soon. If you think that's cool, wait til you seen mine. And, mine is going to be free. It should be ready for beta testing by mid week.

...Cool! Perhaps you can answer a few questions for me, if you don't mind, because I just glanced over the info at the Latshaw site.

...#1) Do you have to purchase the Song List Generator from Latshaw or can you use a different Song Book Software with SongbooksLive?
...#2) Since I'm not sure how this works, do you still use request slips or do the singers text/email their song request to your phone/computer? Or is this an option at all?
...#3) If a kj chooses to go this route, does the user/kj set up an account, name their songbook and then uploads it to the SongbookLive site? Once completed, the Kj goes to gig, informs singers that he/she has their library available at SongbooksLive for them to view. Singers use their phones, they pull up SongbooksLive and type in the name of Kj's Songbook and "BAM" there it is for them to view. Is this close to how it works?

You can use the demo version of song book generator, I have the full version but it's not required. Once you pay your $12 you are able to request the name you want. You could still use slips if you want but in have folks just walk up and give me their name and the song title. As for how to let the crowd know, I run the URL across the bottom of my screen all during the show.

...Thanks Rick! I might give her a try. Good idea about the running the URL on the screen (if having access to other monitors). I still might put out 3-4 books and list the URL in them and also announce it periodically. Hopefully singers will bookmark the page on their phone (regulars). Thanks Again!

Not to sound picky, but it's $11 a year, not 12. When it first went live, I think they did that so they could say it costs "less" than a dollar a month, which I have to agree is pretty cheap considering the cost of books. You can update your online book all you want and it doesn't cost a penny extra. I still bring one paper book to shows just in case there's an old school person who doesn't have a smartphone. It's gotten to the point where I can leave the book in the truck because the couple people who didn't have smart phones have figured out it's easier to simply ask someone at their table to use their phone than it is to walk across the room to ask me for a book. One older lady who used to ask me for a book eventually started to get embarrassed that she couldn't use her phone like everyone else and started to go to SongBooksLive on her home computer before coming to the show which I thought was a good idea, but two weeks ago she walked in with a new iphone and said she finally caved. One KJ I know who also uses it doesn't even keep a single paper book. He brings an iPad and a wifi hotspot to his shows and if someone doesn't have a smartphone, he'll make them use his iPad to search the SBL book. The only thing about that idea I don't like is that he makes them sit at the table next to him so he can keep an eye on the iPad so it doesn't walk out the door.
