In a different thread, Gretchen has taken a few shots about DigiTrax not having the karaoke manufacturer listed for tracks that can be purchased and downloaded.

What I find amusing about the folks that have complained about this is that they are some of the same people that claim that a brand is far less important than a host and that a karaoke show should be able to run with just about any brand as long as the host and gear are up to snuff. If that is the case, then these same people should be buying up the absolute cheapest karaoke discs they can find to maximize their returns.

Yet there is still a desire to know what brand is being purchased and people are saying they won't buy until they know the brand. It sounds to me as if the brand plays a much larger part in the equation than some folks are admitting to.

Sometimes I wonder about you. I am not worried about the brand, ya mook. I am worried about the sound. I HAVE some of the cheapest versions out there, in my SGB series. I am trying to find a good version of "No Matter What", for a friend of mine. See, I would by a certain company's version, if they didn't want me to spend $,500 on a set of 6000 songs, when I only want this one song. Thanks for playing, though.

I have it (No Matter What) on 4 (italicized) of the 6 disc made labels it is released on, Sound Choice, All Hits, MegaHits (which is All Hits), & Legends, Priddis & Sybersound - by far the best sounding version is the SC. Karaoke-Version has it available as an instrumental only - which musically is just shy of the SC version, but still heads over the others. You can get the Priddis version (worst of the 4 I have) through Pro-Burn custom discs. Or the SC version through mykaraokecdg.com.au
May be able to find the All Hits on e-bay. Don't look like it comes in the All Hits 'set' anymore.

This is why SC needs to get on the ball and offer single song downloads, or get on the KJMP thing. They are missing the boat.

Nah I order custom discs all the time from there. Same thing, just not instantaneous which works out better in my situation. 5 song minimum can be a downer, but I usually get 15 song discs so not an issue.
You can get the Priddis version through Easy Karaoke - download.

I like instant access. I like to be able to have the song by the customer's next turn. That is why I like Tricerasoft. I got the SBI version, and wasn't too happy with it, though. Now I am going to use two computers so I can listen to the songs I buy, at the show, before I buy them.

NOPE. That is Beyonce's version. I am looking for Badfinger. Easy doesn't offer it, on Tricerasoft. But thanks, anyway.

No it's the Badfinger version
http://www.easykaraoke.com search no matter what - Badfinger, Meatloaf & Boyzone come up
But if you are going through Tricerasoft, there is SBI & Sunfly versions available (same musically) which is what DT would most likely be offering since these are two of the brands they are selling now.

OHHHHHHHHHHHH. Thank you. The U.K Is so far ahead of us, in so many ways. The U.S.A. could learn from them.

Smooth, what kind of venue do you run your karaoke at?

SGB is for newbies and is usually run at dive bars around here, along with nutech crap.

Ya DO get what you pay for!

Despite your obvious stance about everything SC, you should know by now that they overall are the BEST (not new material obviously) and are of HIGH QUALITY...versus bottom of the barrel....

Do you not care about quality or is it not important where you are?

All you seem to care about is PRICE....really?? (according to lots of your posts)

CHEAP PRICE usually means CHEAP PRODUCT.

And NOW you feel comfortable enough (or jealous enough) on this forum that educates EVERYONE that visits...to take pot shots at LONMAN (who, you SHOULD KNOW, is HIGHLY RESPECTED here and knows more about karaoke than most people and SHARES much information!) AND at CHRIS AVIS (who is easily 5 times as intelligent and successful as a lot of people here) and call him a
Mook???

Seriously "dude"...you know NOT of what you speak! come back in a couple of years when you've matured and actually have learned something about karaoke..and life...and RESPECT...and QUALITY.

I really wish you (and others) would stop making generalized statements like this that lump everyone into one group or another. I am one of those people who have voiced a complaint and an opinion about the lack of Manufacturer names not being included up front in the titles/artists listings of tracks available for download/sale on Karaoke Cloud's site. Now... point me to where I have said anything about brands being less important to a host, and that said host should be able to run with just about any brand as long as his/her gear are up to snuff. I'm so glad that it amuses you to see some people may have voiced one opinion of something, and then contradicted themselves in some other post, but I really don't think you should be snide about it. You want to call someone out on what he/she posted, then do just that. Otherwise, kindly keep the veiled insult to yourself.

If I didn't say this before, I will say it now... Brands are IMPORTANT TO ME (as both a Singer and a KJ). As a Singer, I am adaptable (to a certain point... there are certain songs that I will only sing from specific discs/makers). As a KJ, I will purchase brands that I AM KNOWLEDGEABLE and COMFORTABLE with. If I get requests from other Singers, I will look for, and try to fulfill their requests. If it happens that the requests I'm looking for do not come on brands that I am familiar with, I will probably fill at least one of those requests (and thus test out the unknown brand).

Excuse me, but you don't know how I run my show, or with what. My friend has been running a successful show for 13 years without ANY SC. We have good singers and not so good singers. I bought the SGB set as a starting point. I mostly run DK, now. I have been buying nothing but SBI, SF, and Zoom since I have been adding songs. I have bought a few Party Tyme discs, too.

PRICE IS an issue for me, because I am just starting out. If I had 5 gigs a week I wouldn't worry about it, BUT I STILL wouldn't want to buy 6000 songs at a time. I don't care about having the most songs on the planet, much of which would never get sung. I care about getting the songs that are requested, WHEN they are requested. I have managed to get good versions of those songs. I WOULD by Sound Choice if they would offer song by song downloads. Since they don't, I will not be buying any more of their music.

You can worship whoever you want. Are Lonnie and Chris founts of Karaoke knowledge? Of course they are. I respect both of them. I don't agree with much of what they say, and if I feel like I am being condescended to I will speak up. That's me. If you don't like it, you know where you can stick it. I am half Italian, and I am from Long Island. I say what is on my mind. I REFUSE to be politically correct, because I think that is for pussies, and it weakens us all. If I like you, you will know it. If I don't, you will know that, too. Any questions??

I'm married to a full blooded Italian born in Italy. She doesn't act like you so don't try to blame your attitude and behavior on that! I'm sure someone from Long Island would take offense too. Your people skills suck, period!

You don't even know me. Who the Hell are you? Italians from NY are not Italians from Italy. I didn't say any of that to offend anyone. If you were offended, oh well. Grow some skin. I said all that because I am tired of these cazzos on here talking down to me, you included!! I have done nothing wrong. I just don't like what is going on, and all the BS attached to a certain semi-defunked Karaoke company.

Then why are you here? Or better, why can't you show some common courtesy towards other members, even if you don't agree with everything? Do you see anyone else around here offending people and/or edging on whenever it's possible? And they all have different opinions...

I don't agree with everyone here but I don't run around here on the forums and disrespect people because of it. And yes, ripman is right, your people skills plain suck!

Honestly, since you prefer straight forward talk and to hell with political correctness, your arrogance connected to your stupidity ending up in disrespect towards a lot of members here is starting to piss me off. Consider this an official warning...

I piss people off because they can't handle my position on Sound Choice. If I bowed down to Kurt and James I would be loved here, and you know it.

My very first purchase was a CDG disk player that came with a SGB\All Hits starter pack. I just didn't know that all disks were not created equally at the time. I didn't know 99% of what I know now at that time. Then I started filling in with really inexpensive disks on ebay, mostly Back Stage. At the time I thought it was crazy to spend $20 on a disk when I could get the same tracks for $5. Then I found out some of the versions weren't very good and started replacing them.
But even today I still use many of the SGB (PBTDBL and Turn the Page), Legends (Fleetwood Mac) and Back Stage (Eagles, Brian Adams, Steve Miller).

Just because I still use some of those versions doesn't mean I don't appreciate and attempt to better the versions later when needed. I've tried to replace several of these but haven't found a better PBTDBL and many are great as is so why even try? I just presently purchased the K-V version of "Summer of 69" and found it to be a good reproduction but too lifeless. This was my third try at getting a version I was OK with so I ran it through my cakewalk with some slight expander and sonic boost to open it up some. I've had to do that with many of SC's tracks as well (far too compressed). I did the same thing last night to a new K-V "Main Street".

Sorry for the side-track...

I still say the original All Hits 8002-8 version of PBTDBL is the best one out there. It is the absolute closest I have found. All Hits re-recorded it, later on, and it was terrible.
