Firstly, apologies if this doesn't belong here. I did search the Club Directory but didn't see days and times.

I'm going to be in Las Vegas for a week in April (M-F) and may be interested in checking out a karaoke show or two. Yes I realize there's a ton to do there, but could still be a lot of fun one night.

Anyone know of some good places that do karaoke near the Strip?

Try checking "Las Vegas Lounge Entertainment", it's the Vegas equivalent of Karaoke Scene.

If you can get out to West Vegas on a Wed/Thurs drop in at Calico Jack's. The brothers that run the show are great guys. Good Sound, good selection of music. Also, if you want some first hand knowledge of the SC suits in Vegas, they will be happy to give their opinion.

It's been 4 years since I was last out at Vegas, but some of the shows I remember (as been regular steady shows) were:

Ellis Island - 1 long block off of the center of the Main Strip, right behind Bally's. I believe they have it there every night. This one has been a favorite of many people.

Harrah's - Near the Center of the Main Strip. Located in their Piano Bar (in the front area of the Casino). TJ and his All Stars (Impersonators) had a 1 hour show with his impersonators (Cher, Tina, Richard Simmons, Elvis, etc...), and then 2 hours of Open Karaoke. This was an early show (from 6 PM to 9 PM). Following that show, were these Twin Sisters who did a 1 hour Dueling Pianos show.

Imperial Palace - Near the Center of the Main Strip. Tequila Joe's (by the front entrance of the Casino). I didn't like this place, because there was no order to the KJ's rotation, and he took bribes as well.

The Stratosphere (At the end of the Main Strip, just before heading towards Downtown Vegas). TJ used to run the show there... just Karaoke, no "All Star Impersonations" show.

I was just in Vegas a couple weeks ago, from wednesday through sunday, and sadly I could not find much on the strip. Either I didn't look hard enough or people I asked just did not know.

Imperial Palace has shut down their karaoke bar (which was an awesome place to go) because they are in the middle of transitioning to The Quad, and there is construction/remodeling going on all over the place. Someone did say their piano bar has karaoke some nights, but its very early in the evening.

I walked out to Ellis Island. Not too bad of a walk, and the karaoke and KJ there are awesome! (really busy place though, so you wait a while in between songs.)

Thanks everyone! I'm so excited for this trip. My luck I won't have time for karaoke as I'll probably be so overwhelmed with what Vegas has to offer, but I'll see what happens. :-)

Are you going for the NAB next week? I leave Thursday for 9 long days. I go every year and have stopped doing Vegas Karaoke for the most part. If I could find a real "locals" Karaoke spot, that might be different but Karaoke on the strip is just p1ss poor and generally filled with hoardes of drunken tourists all screaming Bon Jovi and/or Don't Stop Believing.

I'm actually going the week after next. No NAB show for me; just a much-needed vacation. :-)

Can't give you quality guarantees, but I can add a suggestion.

Go to www.karaokelistings.com type in the state and scroll to the city or town. They are usually pretty up to date, but supply contact info for a double-check.
