Just heard the news that country mega-star George Jones has passed away at the age of 81. Arguably, the finest pure country singing voice has been silenced.
I had the privilige of seeing/hearing George along with Tammy Wynette in concert several years ago... His encore was "He Stopped Loving Her Today", and it brought the house down.
Rest In Peace "Possum"... and Thankyou for the music.

Ah, I am sorry to hear this. He used to be a customer of mine. He took the time to talk to my mom on the phone one day. He was as nice a guy as I have met.

He really cheated death so many times in his life it is a miracle he made it to old age. His songs were worshiped at one of my venues. May he find peace at last.
