I am coming to Florida for a week to visit family. My wife and I will be in Tarpon Springs tonight and tomorrow (maybe Thurs too) and then to Melbourne until we fly back home on Monday. I am not sure exactly what if any nights we have free, but I would like to get out at least once or twice for karaoke.

If anyone is near those areas, please let me know.

KjFlorida does shows just south of there.....Clearwater I believe. Topher is in Tampa. Alex is south of Melbourne. I'm south of there in Sarasota which is about 80 miles from there (1 1/2 hours this time of year). Keep posting and maybe we can meet up. I'm not hosting those nights.

I'm actually in St. Pete, about 45-50 min south of Tarpon.
KJFlorida in Clearwater would be about 20-30 minutes, depending on if the show's near the beach or not. Melbourne is the other side of the state :) I know there are 2-3 other KJs on this board in the Ocala/Gainesville area as well, which are about 45-60 minutes NE of Tarpon as well. Stogie is in the St. Pete/Clearwater area (I've met him a few times), but I think he's still doing a one-man show, not a regular karaoke gig.

I have a good buddy in Tarpon, so I end up there sometimes. We went to a karaoke show at a place called Lagerheads a few weeks ago that was a pretty good show. Not a huge place, but on a waterfront canal with lots of gators, I think they do Wednesday and Thursday nights.

If you want to come down to St. Pete, I do Wednesdays and Saturdays, 9:00-2:00, just PM me for directions. Fair warning, I do a hybrid DJ/karaoke show, and work in a smoking bar, which I know isn't for everyone, but if you want your face rocked off with Top 40 dance and karoake, it's a good time :) If you want to sing 10 times and wear the same jeans the next day without having to fumigate them, my show probably isn't for you.

If you just want to hit a show in Tarpon there are probably 25 others closer to you. US-19 that runs right through Tarpon is a commercial highway with a junkton of bars and restaurants. I can ask my friends up that way for a few suggestions for something closer, just let me know the details of where you will be located and what nights you want to go out.

In Tarpon Springs tonight there is a show at The Riverside Grill House run by Dave of Gulfstream entertainment. It ids close to you in Tarpon Springs and is a good combo DJ/Karaoke show set out on the patio, food is good as well. I sent a PM with our shows.
Dave's show is 6-9 and is not a combo show...it is all karaoke.

Harryoke is in the Flagler Beach area, but that would be about 1 1/2 hours away.

I just walked down the street to meet my wife for lunch. I walked past Lagerheads and the do indeed have karaoke Wed/Thurs.

We will either drop by there *or* make the drive out to Tampa to see Athena's gig (Frank is running it tonight).

oops!

I posted in another thread about the Bose L1 system they have at Lagerheads and forgot to come back here. We did in fact end up at Lagerheads. I love the exposed to the outdoors tiki bar setup they have. Not a big bar and I imagine it gets quite packed on the weekends.

There was a group of regulars celebrating a BDay there that night. The man who's birthday it was sang a song with his wife and mentioned they had been together 14 years. I sang "Reminiscing" by the Little River Band for them and made his wife tear up (I think that was more the alcohol than my singing).

They run 8-11 which bummed me out. We were staying at a bed and breakfast that was walking distance and I was ready to get my drink on when people started heading out!

Try Kitty O'Sheas. Nearly directly across from the entrance to Disneyworld. Same host also does Ale House on International Drive. That's a 10 to 2 show. Not sure what night, I think Tuesdays. He also does Buffalo Wild Wings. I think that is Wednesdays.

Ah....it is a KJ only thread so you may need to hit up Phil or a Mod for access -

Here is what I posted -

I did karaoke at a place called the Lagerhead on Tarpon Springs, FL last night. They were using a Bose setup. I don't know the exact model, but it did have the ToneMatch module. They had a single tower and a single detached sub. Also used Wireless SM58 Mics which are some of my favorite. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound that was produced. The ToneMatch module produces a good reverb effect. I didn't see the KJ making a lot of adjustments on the ToneMatch so they must have very well leveled music or the time the KJ spent on the laptop was making tweaks there.

The karaoke was actually in their Tiki bar which consisted of a covered square deck with two open air sides and two walled sides. Would like to hear how this setup sound in an enclosed room with more reflective surfaces.

Post subject:  Re: Flordia Karaoke

thanks Chris for reposting. Will need to ask for KJ access. I have been considering moving to the bose L2's to lighten the load for smaller venues and was interested in opinions from other KJ's. I thought they sounded good when I tested them when Dave fist got them but have not had chance to hear them in use at venues for karaoke.
