I was thinking about adding more interest to the visual appearance of my book by replacing the Name of the band or artist with their logo and the Broadway musical with their logo as well..i was wanting to know what other kjs thinks..would this be to distracting????? Example below

Waste of resources IMO. Every single pic it probably going to add several pages to the book, increasing the overall cost. If I were to do something like that, i'd make it with pics of your regular singers (that wouldn't mind) - that way you might get more people actually looking through the books too.

i like it. i doubt it would add any pages to the book as you have shows it takes up the same room as the artist name.

and if you print the books yourself, then it's more toner or ink and the cost goes up!

Looking at the sample page you showed, are those logos taking up the space of another set of columns where you had more track listings printed, or was it just empty space before? If it's the latter, then go for it. It doesn't look bad. But if it's the former, I'm in agreement with Lonnie... you'd be wasting extra paper.

I love it! It appears you are using white space so no extra pages. Of course printing black and white only will diminish some of the artwork, but it is something new and unique.

Whoda thunk we could do something new and fresh for karaoke after all these years!

It wont add pages or increase the cost in anyway all it does it take up the white space. As far as pic of the singers I have done that with my posters I have hung around town

I think it adds interest but--and I hate to even bring it up--are the logos copyrighted/trademarked or are they okay to use?

I'd make sure the logos are fully legible. The Pearl Jam one was hard to read until I looked at the songs to know who I was looking at.

I think you'd have to come up with a standard size.

Looking through pages and pages of nothing but printed text gets really monotonous. After a few pages of title and artist, most people have forgotten what they read on page 1, so a visual would could be a real plus.

He!!, pretend each page is a web page......and go out and "sell" some advertising space....

as far as the pearljam logo I agree..if a person is going to use artwork you should be albe to read it..i will look for another Pearl Jam Logo
anyway there are all kinds of logos so the art work to do this is endless. Im glad people like the idea..at least I try..if any of you decide to do it I would love to see what you come up with

Not everything is based out of fear of repercussion like you might suspect. It is out of respect for the artist. Not everyone wants to give away their work for free.
