We have been busy updating a few systems and testing (singing singing singing not doin gigs right now just singin..) One in particular is a smaller venue uses 2 jbl eon first gens and had a 362 on it for a few months. I hooked up a 204 on it last week and it is the best improvement to any system we have ever done. The big bottom brings out bass like a bin sitting on the floor and puts vibes across the bar All the regulars (non singers were enerjized and said what have you got on there now). and it doesnt need a bunch of bass power.
It also adds harmonics to the mids and highs and works with the 362 (which is still doing its thing) It is the most awesome system (other than concerts) I have ever heard and the singers and regular listeners are going nuts...
Highly recommend it guys......

From their website and the description, it sounds loke the peavey kosmos. I am using it, and yes, it does make a big difference.

:D Well let me backtrack on that statement a little bit When we added 25 KW Cw to a missle guidance radar to illuminate the target so the missle had something to home in on.... That was dramatic When I was chief engineer at KTVS and replaced the old RCA tube type transmitter with an all solid state NEC .. That was one h**l of an improvement... When we put oversized pistons in a D6 cat .. That was real neat...

Its understandable perhaps why some on this forum is not familiar with the Aphex exciter. It is used in stadiums, broadcast applications and the more sophisticated systems. Here is a paragraph from a review on Prosoundweb from a couple of years ago about the HHH Metrodome.. B4 the 204....

"Many arenas and athletic events utilize a variety of playback material, and the Metrodome is no exception, as Pearson explains. "That's all done through computers here. Our system has a custom five-computer network of 1.2 gigabyte processors, plus a tower server with about 120 gigs of storage, where we load all our sounds into Datronic Soundburst, which is an instantaneous Windows Wave File playback program. Since we got the PM1D, I don't use a lot of outboard effects, but I do use two t.c. electronic Finalizers to enhance the announcers. The music busses are run through a new Aphex Aural Exciter Model 102 for an extra 'kick.'"

But take it from an old retired engineer with about 40 years experience It is a good addition to any DJ or KJ system.. Now I'm going back to makin good music with my friends....

(off topic)
Speaking of Yahama's PM1D (Digital console) I have only mixed on 2 of these in my life and these are the smack of any live console out there in my biased opinion.. I just recieved an ad for one... Yahama's slogan for the ad was... and I quote... "Expierence Required"

No Kidding! 30 hours of "Hands-on" console time to learn the signal routing of thing before I could actually have the thing totally down.

Not the easiest consoles on the planet to run.

Now back to the show...
