Post subject:  A New Karaoke Card Game

Hi, everyone!

SO. I've made this game, it's currently being Kickstarted and I really think you might find it interesting. Because it's a card game to play during karaoke and it's sort of made for you.

I do a lot of karaoke with a group of friends here in London. But we've found

Combine that with two other problems -- 1) I hate it when people sit on the outside of the group and find it difficult to get involved, and 2) I've always liked the idea of having some kind of playful game within karaoke where there's a structure and a "winner", even if the winner doesn't really matter -- and you have the inspiration behind Karaokards. It's a deck of 108 cards and a couple of sets of rules which inspire (but never force) people to sing, sing new things, and join in with everything. And it seems to work.

So, here's the Kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/782 ... f=activity

Check it out and, if you like it, please share it with people you think might like it too.

I know this sounds self-promotional (and it is, I suppose) but I'm not doing this to make money and it's not my job. I just want the game out there, really and this is one of the few places on the internet I think might be interested. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them...!

Thanks,

ste.

It's a good link, you just may had a bad connection or something for a moment. Give it a try in a while.

This is a great idea. I think I'll be doing at least the Seasoned Performer pack, if not the Industry Insider pack.

Thanks so much for your support, everyone. As I said on the first post, this isn't my job and I'm sure you lot know much more about karaoke than I do. But I'm a huge fan and I'm just trying to make it *better*.

We've found the cards are pretty flexible, too, adapt to all kinds of situations. Last night we threw a party and gave two of them out to everyone on the door -- people could trade or combine them to approach me at the front and sign what they want. It worked really, really well.

Thanks again, and if you have any questions or comments about the game let me know...

Just to let you all know (I promise this'll be the last time I'll bump this thread without someone else replying) we've hit our Kickstarter goal and the game's going to go into production. Hopefully those of you who've backed the game will love it as much as we do. At the very least I know it does the thing I wanted it to do which is get more people into karaoke, and I guess that's what everyone here wants too.

Oh -- this might be relevant for KJs. We presented it at an event last week where we came up with a new set of rules for parties; handing out the cards on the door to people as they arrive. There are a few details in this update. I can imagine this MIGHT be useful / interesting to some of you although we've still not worked out how we're going to distribute those rules...
