I was wondering is anyone else using the MP 4 HD format karaoke song selections?????..I was wanting to know what some of u think of this format

I got a few thousand from All Star on the new player they are selling. I have gotten really positive feedback from experienced karaoke singers. The funny thing is that some of the kids or people new to karaoke, just assume that this is the way the songs should look. When a CDG song comes up they want to know why they look so bad on the monitors

Needless to say, I plan to continue building my library with more....

Don't need mp4 files, I get mine in wmv files - equally HD and quality in sound. Mp4 was originally targeted for i-phones and what not. However not going to replace anything with HD files. CDG graphics look pretty good on the HD tv we are using. I believe it is in the higher end video card I have installed. The graphics are not at all edgy like I have seen on some shows.

I am 63 and very near sighted, and I wear glasses only for driving, and I can stand at the back of most rooms and read the words on a 42" screen with standard CDG low resolution. Based on that I would say HD might be nice, but unnecessary for a successful show. I won't be buying new HD music to replace my low resolution songs.

there are a few places offering hd videos now, and they are much nicer. I wont be replacing my existing songs any time soon either, but will probaably choose hd versions if available going forward

I have the option of using them with my Karaoke Version downloads. I generally don't because they are in 4x3 format and leave black bars on the screen whereas CD+G formats do not. I prefer to use as much screen real estate as possible.
