Does anyone know if there is any device that could make your computer monitor or tv wirelessly connect to the computer? I would like to get rid of the wiring between the computer and my monitor. Is this possible?

Yes. There are many options. I've tried some but the problem is there is often a lag between the video which makes the lyrics out of sync with the music. Also, especially in a bar, there are a lot of other electronics, etc that interfere with the signal. I tried to do it with a couple different ones but never got good results.

Plus, it cannot ever be truly cordless...you have to run an electric cable, so I am not sure how much it would decrease the cable situation anyway (other than the fact that it equals exactly a 50% decrease...though I would say it before you all do...lol)

What monitor connections\conversions are you using? That would help get you in the right direction.
As has been stated, the inexpensive VGA to composite wireless solutions work but can be unreliable and the quality usually suffers. The more expensive HDMI wifi solutions are more reliable but there can be a lag depending on distance. Some solutions are not designed for one to many and others are so keep that in consideration when in investigating.

Been using this one. From my laptop to vga converter http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=1 ... 1&format=2 then to wireless transmitter http://www.chinabuye.com/2-4g-5-8g-wire ... d-receiver you still have to connect the wall-wart power supply, transmitter & receiver to an electrical source. You probably have to use power strip so you can connect your tv monitor & the receiver. Signal goes to tv in another room 25ft away; not really noticing any issues as far as interference or vid lag, just slight vid degradation.

Cheaper, I’m not familiar with its reliability: http://www.meritline.com/wireless-rca-v ... 70239.aspx

Brian have you ever tried to transmit the audio with this device?

I use these - They are $99 at Fry's with the occasional sale for $79. -

***UPDATE*** - There are $79 - $10 mail-in rebate = $69 at Fry's this weekend. I picked up 5 more today. ***

NewEgg sells for $88 every day -

Will stream audio and video, but I disable the audio portion for karaoke to get smoother video.
Requires line-of-site so I make sure the transmitter and receiver are placed near the ceiling.
TV must have HDMI or VGA input.

Also great for travel. Keep laptop on night stand and stream Hulu, Amazon, whatever to Hotel TV.

Specs say up to 30' Range but they work a LOT further than that (see pics below). The key is absolute clear line of site. If anything passes between transmitter and receiver, you WILL lose the feed.

Pictures taken before I installed my gear. Distance from Transmitter to Receiver is ~50 feet. This is my new 7 night a week venue.

Nope, sorry to say I haven’t, mrmarog. When I was at Marie C it was used to transmit vid to the other room, powered mackie srm350 for audio.

Yeah, but you can plug the electric in anywhere.

Thanks for the ideas. I will look into it.
