I am only one sound choice spotlight from having the complete collection. I never thought I would ever reach this goal. Is there anyone out there that would want to make my year complete. The last disc I need is Sound choice spotlight 8491. I just want to say thanks to all my fellow KJ's on this site who help me accomplish this goal. Merry Christmas everybody and again thanks. John

So you have every track SC ever made? Certainly no mean feat, since some of the discs are so obsolete and people will pay ridiculous amounts of money for them. I reckon these days the only/easiest way to get all the Sound Choice tracks would be purchase the entire Karaoke Channel library. That is, of course, if all SC tracks made it to Stingray. I hunt for obscurities all the time on Custom Burn and so far haven't found any missing.

I have the entire spotlight collection and also the gem. I probably have about 98 to 99 percent of all the tracks sound choice produced. There are a few songs that came on the star series and power picks that didn't come on the spotlight. And yes I was one the crazy ones that paid a lot for some of the disc's.

If I'm not mistaken the karaoke channel is for home use only. But not positive.

Everything on the GEM should be on the Spotlight series? Why would you get the GEM out of curiosity.

Yes! All of our tracks (including The Karaoke Channel) are licensed for both home and professional use. Venues are responsible for having a performance license for bands, karaoke etc.

I bought the gem series first which is 6000 songs. Sound choice is my top choice of manufacture. Sound choice made over 20,000 tracks. I called them to find out how I could get the other 15,000 tracks that were not on the gem. Unfortunately there was not an easy solution. The best advice I got was to buy all the spotlight series and I would have most of their tracks. I started buying the sound choice spotlight about 8 months ago and as of yesterday collected the entire series (over 900 cdg's). So I now have over 20,000 sound choice songs between the gem and the spotlight series. It was a lot of work but I finally did it.

I don't think the Spotlight series ever contained everything they ever put out in reality - you have to figure the Spotlight series started at #8101 and ended approx #9015 or so. That's 914 discs. I believe all but maybe 5 or 6 discs were more than 15 songs each, so 15 songs x 914 discs is approx 13,700 plus a handful more - so let's just say 13,800 total tracks (counting duplicates) on ALL the Spotlight discs combined. Now MANY of the discs had dups of songs between some of the internal series (example 70's hits, 3 of a kind - artists of 'like' types, headbangers, greatest hits) I know 2 discs alone were released that had almost identical track listings (8300 & 8467 for example). The actual amount of individual tracks on the Spotlight discs is probably closer to 12,000-12,500 tracks (and that's probably being generous). Now being the 6,000 songs on the GEM series didn't have anything released that wasn't already on the rest of the Spotlight lines, you cannot really count those 6,000 in the 20,000 individual song total, but a duplication of stuff they already had out compiled into one set. The rest of the music they put out that were never on the Spotlights were spread within the Power Picks, Star, Reminiscing, B-Flat, Spanish/Latin, Bricks, I believe the Foundation had songs not on Spotlights, even their old tape releases in which many tracks weren't even released to cdg in any manner. So sorry to say even with the 900+ Spotlights, you are still a good 8,000 or songs away from having everything they ever made.
Just out of curiosity, in your quest to pick up all Spotlights ever made, did you happen to get the discs that were re-released at a later time with a track difference because of licensing issues? There were 29 Spotlight re-releases if I recall. Also the ultra rare Sound Choice Milestone 15 song disc, released in limited quanitities - to kj's only around the the time Spotlight 8200 came out, to commerate the 100th Spotlight disc release at the time.

I always look at it as you described, Lon. But this is quite a feat from a collector standpoint and the final disk might just make this collection quite valuable some day.

No i'm totally impressed in that respect, just was getting at he said he thought he was getting everything ever made (20,000 + songs) from SC with the Spotlight and GEM purchases. He's far from it.

I could be wrong but I'm being told that their may be about 300 song songs not on the gem or spotlight disc's that are on the star series and power picks. It's not worth the investment to buy all those disc's for a few hundred songs plus half those disc's have vocals on them. At least half the songs people request are not on the gem but are on the spotlight disc's. I not trying to get every song sound choice ever produce but have a pretty good collection. I also have some star disc's, latin, b-flat etc.

Just curious does anyone know anybody that has the complete collection of every disc's. I heard of people being close but I never heard or know anyone that has the complete collection. In 8 months I have bought the entire series. If I had to do it over I seriously don't believe I could find all these disc's. It's been a long 8 months and glad I can sit back and relax. Brian with sound choice was a big help. I owe him. Sound choice has been great. I wish one day they will start producing new disc's. I will buy everyone of them.

Again it's just like I said, they may have 20,000 songs (give or take) but it includes all their other series & tapes that were never released on cdg. The Spotlights alone will only yield aprox 12,500 individual songs max. You can figure it out with math, the Spotlights only produced 15 songs per disc, time that per number of Spotlight discs out. That isn't counting the hundreds-thousand of duplicate songs they did within the Spotlight series.
