Has anyone else had issue with KJ Pro and MP+G Toolz, as of late? I can't seem to get KJ Pro's 'browse' online page to come up. Is it defunct? Conversely, MP+G Toolz' rename function hasn't worked for me in months. Thanks |

KJ Pro is closed. Try the next best thing, www.icroons.com Doesn’t have everything but getting better. Re: mp3+g toolz renaming issues, Chris posted a good one over a year ago; this might help: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=23829&hilit=mp3g+toolz |

The downside is that MP3+GToolz relied on the KJPro database to do it's renaming. I still use Toolz for other things, but not nearly as much as I used to. Fortunately I had finished most of my file renaming before KJPro went offline. Even more sad was that the KJPro folks never responded to my inquiries about purchasing their IP. :/ -Chris |

MP3GToolz is still very useful. It just doesn't rename files any longer because KJ Pro has gone the way of the dinosaur. The biggest problem that it seems to cause is when MP3GToolz wants to convert bin files to ZIP Files; the program still tries to find the song in the KJ Pro database which is just a waste of time now. I've tried to unclick the rename files box but it doesn't seem t make a difference. Yu just have to take the good with the bad. |

I use CDG Autoname v2. If you have KJpro and/or Music Book Deluxe databases this works great. If your cdg's discs are ripped with ACCURATE disc and track data (no song or artist data) you can use CDG Autoname to very quickly add the song and artist data (as fast as you can hit the enter button i.e. 10 times a second if you are really fast). I have a programmable mouse that can hit "enter" more than 30 times a second, so in 10 seconds I can name 300 songs. I cannot find any active download sites, but their disclaimer states that it can be freely distributed. So if you need it I have it. Here is their README: CD+G AutoName was created by RADGUY. Overview: What exactly does this program do you ask? In Automatic Disc Selection mode it provides single mouse click automatic renaming (DiscID - Trk - Artist - Title) of the bin files created by Cdrwin. In Manual Disc Selection mode it allows you to select a disc and apply any song name from that disc to any file currently on your system. This version of CD+G AutoName generates custom lookup tables from either Kjpro or Karaoke Song List Creator. I you have both of these programs then you can use both database lookup tables simultaneously. CD+G AutoName is FREE! Kjpro and KSLC are commercially available programs. Information on purchasing Kjpro is available at http://www.kjpro.com Information on purchasing KSLC is available at http://www.airwer.com This new version is still in BETA testing. It has undergone preliminary testing but there is always a possibility that bugs exist. Also, the Kjpro and KSLC databases do contain occasional errors therefore it is highly recommended that you carefully review each name change before you click the apply button. After applying monthly updates to either Kjpro or KSLC you will need to go into CD+G AutoName's Options screen and run "Build Lookup Table" to make the updates available to CD+G AutoName. The first time you run the program click the [OPTIONS] button and go to the Database tab and click the build lookup table buttons. You can also set the song naming and file types options to your preferences. If you are new to this program then I highly recommend that you make some copies of some existing songs and use them to experiment with how the program works so you do not accidentally misname any songs in your database. Instructions for naming new rips: 1. Rip your tracks with Cdrwin. Use Cdrwin's Name Sequentially option and name the files "DiscID_" (Example SC7501_) Using the example the bin files will be would be named SC7501_01.bin SC7501_02.bin and so on. Be sure to enter the DiscID EXACTLY as it appears in the Kjpro or KSLC database. 2. Select Automatic mode in the drop box at the top of the main CD+G AutoName window then select the drive and directory that contains your rips. 3. Double click the first file in the file list box. If the Disc & Track are located in the lookup database(s) a new proposed name will appear. You can either click [Apply] to accept the proposed name or [Skip] to make no name change for the selected file. You can also manually edit the proposed name before clicking the [Apply] button. Do not change the DiscID-Trk format or the separator characters if you want to be able to rename the track using AUTOMATIC mode with different name options at future time. 4. CD+G AutoName will advance one song down the file list each time the [Apply] button is clicked. To stop the process before reaching the end of the file list box just click [Stop]. Please note that the program can only be used to rename files with the extensions of .zip .bin .cdg .wav .mp3 .mpg & .mpeg plus one custom file extension that can be specified in the program options. If at some later point you decide to change the CD+G AutoName naming options you can quickly rename all your songs, in AUTOMATIC mode, using the new format that you specify in naming options. Instructions for naming files using Manual Disc Selection mode: 1. Select Manual mode in the drop box at the top of the main window. This is the mode to use when you have files that do not have the DiscID and TrackNo in a format that CD+G AutoName can automatically recognize. 2. Enter the DiscID# that contains the song names of the files you want to rename. Be sure to enter the DiscID# exactly as it appears inside Kjpro or KSLC. 3. Click the "Load Disc Info" button and the disc tracks will load into the song selection grid. 4. Now just pick the file you want to rename in the file list box and click on a song name for the file in the song selection grid. You can then review the original filename and the proposed filename at their respective boxes located at the bottom of the program window. 5. Click the Apply button to rename the file. The file selected in the file list box and the song selected in the song selection grid will automatically advance by one. This will make it very easy to rename an entire disc. CD+G AutoName has not been modified in any way. I am interested in buying their IP. I tried contacting them before they went offline but they never responded. I don't know if this means they aren't interested or if they were selling to someone else. -Chris |

Music Book Deluxe has a naming program that works great on single files or batches. I used it to rename my GEM series and Nutech SuperCDG. |

Nope. Gave up. Missed opportunity on their part as far as I am concerned. |
