I went looking for "All About The Bass" last night and found it on "Maestro Karaoke". Is this a reincarnation of MM? What does anyone know of this label?

it's Karaoke maestro and it's an iTunes backing track.

The person who wanted to sing it downloaded it. She said that there was a lyric display.

I never thought Stellar's quality was a whole lot better. At least MM had more accurate re - creations, even if their production values bit.
Stellar was just generic -though singable - blah.
Anyway, Wiz described these as backing tracks, so now I'm confused because of the lyric display.

chrisavis wrote: We can only hope and pray that Music Masestro stays gone...... I disagree. Some of MM tracks were fantastic, especially the rare Elvis ones. They were good with doo wop as well. Weren't some MM tracks used by Chartbuster as well? Edit to add: Presumably Easy Karaoke now holds to rights to Music Maestro tracks. MM appears on Customburn but the Music Maestro title screens have been replaced with ones under the EK fascia. All other websites I have seen that offer MM have the tracks in their original state. I have even seen tracks somewhere with the code DWG that are MM sans the opening title screen.

All Star and Stellar are two different things to my knowledge. Why do you conflate them? Stellar, i.e. Pop Hits Monthly / Sing It Now, was so far ahead of Music Maestro it isn't close. Stellar consistently had top-quality tracks, and there are a number of songs that I prefer on them over any other including Sound Choice and Chartbuster. It almost never had a song that made me stop and say "what the heck is that?" Music Maestro, on the other hand, had many tracks that were nearly unsingable.

I can probably count on a single hand how many times I have heard and Elvis track at one of my shows in the last 4 years. I imagine Elvis has been requested more that than when including all of our venues, but I would consider it a rare request regardless. When tracks like that do get requested I have plenty of versions to select from including MM, but I generally don't play MM because the quality across the board just doesn't match other companies.

Than the 'majority' of MM tracks - simple word YESMM had their moments - but overall in all that they put out, would that would be considered a handful of useable tracks IMO. If it's only available on MM, then that is what I go for - however any other brand that released it I will opt for first if available. I bought a bad MM of Gee Officer Krupke - West Side Story, even the singer asked what the hell that was - not even worth listing as an available song. Born On The Bayou - CCR, unrecognizable, sound like it was done on a $50 Casio keyboard recorded to an 8-Track tape. I have one full disc of mostly unuseable tracks. And then several other discs that are barely passable, however they do not get sung enough to warrant replacing at this time. If I get people singing them and they don't like it, then i'll replace on a per song basis - again if available.
