what'choo got

what are some songs you originally didn't warm up to, until someone sang it for karaoke and now you kinda tolerate the song

for me it's gotta be:

wyclef, mary j. blige - someone call 911

when the song came out, i couldn't stand it. until, more than a decade later, a regular college dude who hadn't sang before drops by to sing it for karaoke and it was the first time anyone sang it, for me. he pulled a chick from his table to sing mary's part.

they blew me away. dude did wyclef better than wyclef. he sounded like wyclef, but it was more raw, more heartfelt. the chick could sing too. i woulda liked the song a lot more when it came out if these random folks sang it first before wyclef.

so, i guess with this thread, if anyone posts to it, i wanna see if there are some songs that just come off better live. to me, this song goes in the "better live" column, ha.
