Does anybody still use any? I've only seen a couple - videos didn't have a thing to do with music, but it sounded fine, wipes were ok and had some obscure stuff I wanted. Opinions?

I only have 3 or 4 VCD's. 2 are Original Artists discs of Abba. They used to get played. The only PITA was that I had to remember to hit the Right/Left balance key on my machine to default back to normal after the song was over.

Were you satisfied with their quality Cueball? Did people like them?
I can file convert them pretty easily for Compuhost and the program automatically goes out of multiplex mode when the track ends.

I have ONE- and it's Korean. I haven't seen any that weren't Asian output in some years, and most of those were from China. Nothing wrong with the quality, just never run across any in English.

I never had any.
I only had someone bring in 2 over the 20+ years of karaoke. He was a regular so I bought a player that would play them at the time because I did not have the songs nor could get them in cdg (at the time). He used those discs for a couple years then moved away. He emailed me a couple years later stating he hasn't found any place that could play them since he moved a few years back. The videos were similar to those I had on Pioneer & Nu-Tech/Tip Top, etc.

Yes to both questions. I haven't gone looking for more because I already have most of the songs I would be looking for on CDG already.

I started with a set of U-Best VCD's. A set of 54. There are mpeg files on the disc that I simply copied over and renamed. I've imported them into CompuHost and every once in a while I sub one of the VCD karaoke files for a regular because the videos can be strange and or amusing. Like someone else said, the MPX button works fine with video files too and it reverts back when the track is over.

CompuHost seems to get stuck at the end of a video file and not display the host screen until after the next regular karaoke file is played.

I have to say, I've seen some of the ugliest sweaters on earth in those videos. :vomit:

I have one with windmills on it to Neil Sedaka's "Laughing In The Rain" Fun to see one up close in operation. A pretty girl on most tracks too...

I have a bunch that have piled up through acquisitions. I have never used them simply because spot checks indicate that I already have the tracks from another more preferred vendor. Also, since I have never seen anything other that Pioneer and Playboy video karaoke at any show, I figure they probably aren't very good or I would have seen them elsewhere by now.

Hmmmm....now it gets me thinking that I should take a look at them so we can have a "bad karaoke songs" night.....

I like them actually. Let me know if you get interested in selling any. I'm probably going to have to find something to phase out my Sound Choice.
