Friday night at my local was quiet. Hardly any of the usual crowd were there. There was probably about 3 of the regulars aside from me and the squad.

That meant it was not a quiet night for me. I ended up singing 8 songs, which is the most I have ever done in one night.

After singing my first song I was talking to a guy who was asking questions about the karaoke. He said you would never catch him on the stage but he liked coming along occasionally to hear others and chill out with a few beers. That is cool with me. He asked my sister and I what our specialities were with regards to songs and we both said we do a bit of a variety, so I decided to run with that for the night.

JCB Song by Nizlopi
Take on me by A-Ha
Rude by Magic!
Everlong by Foo Fighters
Ignition by R Kelly
The Kids Aren't Alright by Offspring
Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood Mac
Hello by Lionel Richie

Mixed results due to experience with songs and still trying to develop some power to my singing. Everlong was a bit flat in places, I mistimed the start of Rude and I sucked at Kids Aren't Alright because it was the first time I'd tried it. Other than that I think I did alright, though my throat didn't thank me in the morning.

Despite being quiet, it was a good night. We even dragged my sister's new boyfriend out and it turns out he can sing. He said he hadn't sung for a good few years (used to perform theatre as a kid but a little thing called puberty snuck up on him) but was willing to give it a punt. He was okay.

Starting next week, karaoke is Friday and Saturday. Not sure if I am gonna be able to manage both nights every week but I'll give it a damn good shot.

How was everybody else's week?

No karaoke shows right now. Had to go into work on day off and worked this weekend and wife has pneumonia.
Sound Choice drama is the cherry on the sundae.

But I'm impressed with your song list. I might pull off one or two of those, but I'm no tenor. My voice would be thrashed.

My Wednesdays are finally picking up again after a month and a half of truly awful weather and lousy snow management services in that town. The rest of the week has remained constant throughout
