I just sat through 2 hours of exactly what predicted - marketing.

They did NOT reveal anything new.
They did NOT provide any detail AT ALL regarding how to increase revenues (only the promise that you would)
In fact, they didn't provide any detail at all.

It was basically a "pat each other on the back" session along with a bunch of "this is going to revolutionize karaoke" spin.

Even the ONE KJ they said used it couldn't position it well enough to sell anyone. It will be interesting to check in with that same KJ in a year to see if he is still using it.

I truly wish them luck and I know they will have some success with it, but based on the live chat, the sentiment of the participants is that practically all are against the platform.

I signed up to test the KaraoQ app for a single venue around a charity event. I am seriously considering just dropping it and doing the event without it.

Wasn't there supposed to be a Live Chat, where they would answer questions from those watching/listening to the Webcast? And if so, why didn't you push them for some more answers (or did they just do a song and dance (pun intended) away from those questions)?

Well, one thing that was just posted in another Topic Thread, was that PEP/SC was taking over the Chartbuster library and take over the enforcement efforts from Piracy Recovery.

Slimy sort of business dealings ain't it?

I wonder how much of a percentage PEP is going to keep when they sue venues now for including the CB trademark? Probably 60/40 for a limited time...

There was a live chat, I did ask, and I also pointed out they broke their promise to inform.

I am done complaining about it. I will let Chip carry that torch.

My job here is done because I think you've summed it up quite nicely all by yourself.

Good Job Chris!

I believe that would be the broadcast rights....

So let me get this straight.... because my mind just did a loop

SC/PEP is going to sue on behalf of Chartbuster Karaoke now?!?!?

So everyone that got sued, settled, licensed, certified, etc will have to go through another round of that?!?!?

Will the SC HELP Licences cover this? (Prob not), Will the Certified KJ people need to re-audit and pay more fees for CB? (Prob so) Will CB Have its own licencing Payment to make? (Prob so)

SC/PEP already has a hit list, so I guess I know where that 1st wave might be headed

I guess if this is the case, might be time to just pack up the mics and home, I'm too little to be paying every company monthly fees and make ends meet :(

::sigh::

You may not know, but you can bet that the responses in here are monitored and will likely help shape the outcome. Nothing happens in a vacuum in this context.

Is that some sort of veiled threat.

Thank you for specifically including my post confirming your never-ending quest to be little more than a disruption, that so many posters have specifically experienced in this forum for some time. This is a perfect example of trolling, where you drive by, quickly throw out a weak jab, and retreat without broaching the actual subject at hand...which is probably just as well...

Sounds pretty threatening to me. So if it's not threatening how did you intend it to be interpreted?

Honestly, I am having a hard time dignifying this response with a comment.

Are you making the silly assumption that I am somehow involved with SC or licensing or whatever? Without that assumption you have no comment at all so please advise.

I made an observation based on history. Sorry it was a near miss...

Sounds more like an unsubstantiated opinion rather than a threat. A threat would imply some action (against someone).

"I'm threatening to monitor your posts" is hardly a threat, or at least one to be worried about. Although it's members only, this is STILL basically a public forum.
