					| Well.. I've been stocking up on Christmas tunes because I am going to be making a Christmas Cd for my friends and family (so i'll be bombarding you with all kindsa Christmas stuff soon ). I was just getting excited listening to all of the Christmas music because I love it all so much, and I started thinking that I'd love to do a couple of group Christmas songs with you guys if there are enough people interested. These things take a while to put together, so I figure there is no time like the present to get this puppy going if y'all are interested.
I'd like to try doing two group songs. One is a fun one and the other will be more a sentimental and sweet one.

The first is "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" ..the bruce springsteen version. I think it lends itself well to a fun group song, as i've done it with just a couple people on one of those web contest thingies in the past.

The second song is "The Christmas Song" which is a classic and sentimental song that easily splits itself up to be done as a group song.

I've already thought through how they would work, and I will do the mixing.. What I need is for people who want to be involved in this project to say so in this thread and let me know if you are interested in being a part of both (i hope all of you will be in both) or if you are just wanting to be in one of the songs..

After I have left this up for a while to make sure that everyone who may be interested has a chance to see it, I will post the lyrics of the songs with designations as to who sings what. I will also then post the songs themselves with me singing as a guide (just so we get the timing for the parts where we are singing together right, and to give you ideas for what harmonies to sing in the places that call for it) Your solo line(s) that you get, you can sing your own way.. no need to follow what I do timing or note wise (though stick close to the melody.. little embelishments are cool.. don't go crazy
).. After using the "guides" to record your vocals, you can send them to me without the music AND dry so that I can eq, add effects, and mix them all together with the music.
Here's hoping that you guys are interested in this.. I think it could be great, and a lovely way for us to share in the holiday spirit together

					| I would be happy to mix and master I will have run of this studio til January.. It seems that I will not be going anywhere til the holidays are settled or the Indie Music World Series West - Finalists (San Francisco) are announced in Late December. By then my own other project will be ready to record..
In short I have plenty of time on my hands to do other things... And will donate it to help. (singing or engineering or whatever is needed) _________________

					| Sounds like a terrific idea!
Can't wait to hear the results.

Would love to participate but I'll be busy - I have no idea where my job will take me next.

I drop by occassionally just to catch up on the latest gossip, news (aren't they the same?) and to see what is happening!

Good luck and hope to hear more soon!

					| Sorry....evrybody! I don't know how this works. I've tried to get some help from the people behind SS, but they have never answered my mails.....(Why Phil, why???)
When i push the quote button to give a reply. It seems that I get everything (like in this case Jazzybaggz), that person I want to reply to have written, in my reply!
What do I have to do, just to get some of the thread in the reply(instead of all the thread)???
Ehhm....I just found out now. All by my self I simply just push the quote button, and then delete the person I wanna quote's message, and the write my piece and then click Submit (The stupid dane is getting the hang of it )_________________

					| If you just want to reply to the thread click the 'Add Reply' button at the bottom of the page instead of quote.
I'd like to be included in the group singing!

Can you tell me what backing track you're using so I can insure I'm using the right one? If you have a disc number I'd appreciate it as well since I try to make sure I stay above the board on my music.

					| :D Hi Elisha:
 Super idea
If if it's OK I would love to participate on The Christmas Song. I also have that one on a Christmas CD. I think it will be very moving and it will bring us much closer together. Hope I can be a part of it. Your friend,
 Tonmay - Tony
