When you see someone do that quickly turn your bass down to about 10:oclock position and save your speakers from doing the "Woofer Workout"

I would have changed the Shure Logo to SUTURE ...as in you're gonna need some.

I had a gut last night parade all over the room, cupping the mic, and yelling into it. He could actually sing quite well, but you couldn't understand him because of the distortion and feedback issues. When he was done he asked me why I turned his mic way down. :x

It must have been pretty bad if the singer was causing feedback to your L1 Compacts :shock:

It was when he was on the stage. I use a Mackie SRM450 for a floor monitor. Shure Beta58's don't like to be cupped either.

Most karaoke participants, and a good number of KJ's, have total sonic impairment. So microphone technique is way outside their ability.

What's the problem? . . . you want a lower sound you sing into the lower end of the mic.
