The software that I have been trying out is now available for download. Right now it's Linux based but he's working on a Windows and Mac version.

The software looks interesting. Thanks for the link.
I use openkj today as it will work on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Because I refurbish laptops, I always have extras available.
I loaded Ubuntu 24.10 on three Macbook Air laptops yesterday.
(Apple stops the OS updates after a while.)

Biggest benefit of the software is that what you do in the current rotation doesn't affect the rest of the rotations unless you lock the rotation. If you move a down the current rotation they stay in their original place in the rotation. Once the current rotation is locked any new singer's requests gets interleaved with the next rotation new singer old singer.

It's now available for Windows 11. It won't run on Windows 10 or below and you need the 64 bit VLC software to run SongBoss. If you want remote request the Standalone version of OpenKJ's Songbook can be run alongside it.
Website for downloading it is www.song-boss.com and it's free. Its remote request service isn't ready for primetime yet but everything else works. Just a note it doesn't have multiplex controls yet but you can weed out those requests in favor of nonmultiplex versions in the search box

Have decided that SongBoss is not for me. If it automatically continued the interleave without kicking the new singer to the next rotation after the previous rotation ended and I turn off the lock on the rotation, I might have been keen on using it. I plan on keeping abreast on the development of it and if what I want happens to be addressed I might go back for a test but as it is it's going to ruin my reputation as being a fair host. Now the question do I want to use my Linux computer with OpenKJ or my Windows computer with Karma. I don't need any extra equipment other than my sound equipment (speakers and rack) while the Windows computer with Karma has me carrying around my 32" TV. The advantage is that I am running a second video out to show my rotation, information on how to make a request and advertising pictures beneath the scroller for events that are coming up that week or month using the third screen option in Karma. Yeah the advertising runs across the singer's monitor as well as the crowd monitor.

Found a way to do it on Linux. Just run the advertising pictures as the OS wallpaper slideshow. So I am back to bringing my 32" TV with me for all shows. I will use an HDMI cable for the 32" TV and a HDMI wireless system for the venue TV.
