Today is March 1st. KJs who do private parties, weddings, etc, have you done your first party for 2026 yet? How many parties are you up to, by now? How did your first party of 2026 go? Are you doing more parties these days or less?

Just did my first official party for 2026. It went fair to not-so-great. To me. I asked the in-house staff there what did they think, they said my party was good--but good by their standards is: no drama. I got another party this coming weekend.

I'm doing less parties these days by choice. I see now, or nowadays, regular gigs is where it's at. Keep the regular money coming in. That's cruise control. Shoot, I can be 'late' and 'tardy' to my regular gig. That's a no-no for a wedding or a party.

So, I just clocked in my first official party on the last day of February. Looking back at my records, this is one of the latest starts for me, party-wise. I did do a random gig outside my regular schedule in late January and back again to the same spot in early February, but this is a re-occurring gig once a month, it's new, but it's once a month, I'm not counting it as an official party, official event that's one-and-done.
