Well, there were several of you who gave great ideas and opinions. I unfortunately tried all and I am still failing to get clear screens. i went out bought a new RSQ triple tray player, a new t.v, (thinking that my other player was dying a slow death or that my old T.v. was on the brink of death) and hooked it all up and nothing chnaged. I have it all on the right settings (channel 3, not on PALs connection in the back of player, etc) I got new modulator box, splitter, etc, and everything works just fine when all set up at my home but once i get to the bar lines run through the screens the whole time! After an additional 450.00 of new equipment still nothing! If it;s the bar's outlets (bad wiring, not grounded, etc) Probally nothing I can do huh? Thanks for all your help though! |

This is a must for setting up in any venue here If I test outlets especially in an old bar and they test bad I wont use them. Describe the llines in more detail.. Are they horizontal and go all the way across the screen? Is there jjust one that floats from top to bottom? Detail how everything is hooked from video out to the monitors. Are you hooking up to a big screen? |

Also do you hear a hum in the speakers? This is another indication of bad outlets. Are you plugging into a central splitter in the bars cable system or are you direct connecting to their tv's? Are you running coax or RCA lines. Are the video cables running over or near any neon or flourescent signs or lights? |

I would suggest picking up a top end Furman Conditioner before you have some serious damage to your equipment. http://www.pssl.com/bitemdetail.tpl~waGroup1datarq~[waGroup1datarq]~eqint_KeyIDdata~38398~itemNumber~[item_number]~UID~2005102501492001~disp_IMG~Y~catgroup~%5BcatGroup%5D |

You have power issues.

Perhaps it is something as simple as the bar has something with a screen saver that is bleeading thru. Like a DVD player, satellite receiver, ect... Just a though |

Are you plugging everything into the same circuit? Is the TV on the same circuit as everything else, or is it plugged in seperately to another plug? Since you are using the modulated signal and using channel 3, have you tried using a different channel? I can change the one I have between channel 3 & 4. There could be something in the bar (or very close to the bar) that is transmitting and bleeding over.... If the video is OK to the bar's big screen, and only a problem with yours, can you split off the signal before going into the modulator and run a video cable to an aux in on the TV, so that you arent using the tuner and possibly picking up interference? Good Luck! |

DOES the tv have a yellow RCA input for video on the front or back? That'll be the AUX or LINE selection... that's the way I go with my tvs! |

Simpler put than I did. I also go with that type of connection to my TV for the singer, and just have a simple RCA Y-cable to connect other TV's, using the AUX/Line in. I have a RF modulator I can also use, and have used it only once when the big screen was built-in, and I couldnt get to the AUX/Line IN jacks and tapped into the cable/coax line. (at least they left that where you could get to it) |

rather than going thru a splitter, I have a mixer with video in and three video outs! Built in! ! |

Does the splitter have a RF/Video amplifier in? or is it just a signal splitter? |

most splittes don't have ampliers... which is why after one or two splits, the signal turns to crap! |

Built in! And one advantage to that is if you have hum or interference feeding back from a tv it is not reflected into the others. I have had cases where the antenna terminals were shorted to the chassis gound on a tv. All tvs now are hot ground and this short puts a 60 cycle hum and will reflect back thru a splitter to to the other tv.. I made a box that has a s-video or nstc video input and a couple of video distribution amps for 2 videos out and a modulator and splitter for 2 rf's out... |
