I currently have a yamaha emx68s mixer. I was looking for speakers, that i can afford, but will sound alright for basic karaoke situations. I'm currently looking at a pair of JBL JRX-115 's. How are they going to work with the mixer, and are they going to be clear and powerful enough in a bar setting?  :dancin:
Thanks again in advance ...

I haven't played with that particular powered mixer but from the specs it seems that the JRX115's would be a good match.  However, they are the bottom of the JBL line and sound like it.  There isn't a lot of bottom end to them but they thump pretty well IMHO.  In a DJ situation I would definately put subs under them but for small to medium sized rooms for Karaoke they will probably be fine.

The amp on the Yamaha is pretty underpowered to get good efficiency out of the speaker.  The JRX should have an amp pushing approx 500 watts per speaker to get a great, crisp, full sound, the Yamaha mixer only pushes approx 150 watts into 8 ohms (270 MAX with .5% distortion).  You possibly will find that you'll get a tinny sound with lack of bass response.

If you want a little more thump you could step up to the jbl MP215 they are a $100 more than the jrx but the sound is way better IMHO.
