There is a lot talk about Copyright laws and prosecution. Usually there has to be big money involved. The prosecutions have to be originated in a High Court such asthis or in this country a federal court. The arrests or enforcement have to come from federal agents. Recent court cases involving the music industry have favored the consumer because there was no proof of actual lessening of the plaintifs profits all the way to the Ninth Circuit court of appeals. So the only other recourse is a direct lower court suing by the plaintif. This involves a law firm that anaylizes the case and the first factor is monetary gain. If that is absent it hardly ever gets off the ground. Chartbuster Soundchoice Ascap or any of the others have no power or anything to do with Federal prosecution. Anybody that comes to one of my shows and starts talking copyright laws I will ask them for their id and tell them I WILL REPORT you to the proper authorities. Now how do you think the case above will turn out? |

Oops, I clicked in here thinking the premise of the thread was the much debated bible code. I dont think ASCAP enforces bible verses, But one never knows...... |
