I absolutely love the World Cup, and would watch as much of it as I could even if the USA wasn't in it. I started watching it in 1986 on cable on a Spanish-language channel because there was no English broadcast. At that time I didn't really know much about soccer but I was completely captivated by the crowds and the passion and the national pride. I'm rooting for the USA, of course, but let's be honest, they're in a very tough group. They'll have to beat Ghana (USA is favored but it's not an automatic win by any means) and then will almost certainly have to beat either the Czech Republic or Italy as well. They can do it, but they'll have to play well and catch a few breaks. Then if they do advance past the group stage, there's a probably better than 50% chance that they'll face Brazil in the second round. Good luck on that. |

USA have definately got better over the past 10 years with some real talent coming through. However, they are good, but are they good enough? I hope they go through, but my bet is Chec's and Italy. I am English, so what the hell do I know (he he he) Luv Lady Di |

Up date: Grand opening June 9 Munich German Vs Costa Rica. This one look like an easy one of the German. A 3 - 1, margin. |

For the US to go to the next round they have to beat Ghana by a greater goal margin than the Czech Republic. Then they must draw to Italy or the Czech Republic. The Italian must then beat the Czech Republic and off course Ghana. |
