Dang, you got some pretty gals over there, you lucky dog! Looks like you guys know how to party!

Jian, is there anything you need karaoke-wise I can ship you that would help?, you know, anything you can't find there that would add to your show.

Let me know!

The Gawai festival in my village is an open celebration. The whole village and a lot of vistors joint in. Food and drinks is everywhere. Infact this is the only time I do serious drinking.

Another closer look at the KJ on a Yamaha MG16, and Behringer power amp Ep2500
Just enough to power to drive a pair of SP2 . A second amp, power another pair of Behringer speakers and the stage monitors was driven by a power mixer which can be seen in the first pic. We do not have any compressor and the Kj basically ride the fader.
There was barely enough power but the kind of music played did not required the sound to be that loud. This time we did not blow the SP2; strictly no red light.

It marked the end of the agriculture year, done after the harvesting season is over.

Now that you mention it I forgot to take the picture of myself.
The MC speaks in Bidayuh mostly, and the then translate the important parts for the vistor in Malay and English. Songs sang in this kind of fuction are mostly those that can be danced to. Songs are mostly local and some English. We have an Elvis singing some of his fast rock and roll.

The MC seen here is a local radio DJ

Most of the songs sang are of local languages; Bidayuh, Iban, and Malay. There are some BLUES numbers done in Bidayuh and lots of rock n' roll kind of music. One in ten songs sang are English, mostly late 60s and early 70s rock.

You and Keith should be around. The band need good keyboard player. The good thing about the way this was organised is that if the Band can play the song we turn to karaoke. Some of the singers cannot sing with the band and prefer using the karaoke while some prefer singing with the band.

There is this man who can't read or speak English but sing the Bee Gees Don't forget to Remember' and he sings with the band.

Nice pictures.    OK    how can everyone send a file with 500 pictures in it and I can't send half of a half of a page without getting a warning that I overloaded the size limits for the attachment?
