I was reminded of that old thread today when I got the OLLLLLLDEST pick-up line used on me today!! HAHAHA!!

some guy goes "so your legs must get sore as hell at night, eh?"

I TOTALLY fell for it, cuz I thought he musta seen me rollerblading to work this morning.... so I'm like

"nope... why?"

I kid you not... he goes "Cuz you're always running through my mind"

LORD!! I'm almost peed maself!!

I can honestly say that's the first time anyone's EVER used a line on me before..... it nearly KILLED me to keep a straight face.... "here's your receipt and have a nice day, Sir"

I can thankfully say noone has ever tried to run a pickup line on me... I think I would actually have a giggle fit on the spot. I think the funniest one I have heard to date is

"Hey baby, wanna play house? You can be the door and I'll slam you."

I never needed a pickup line. I used to go out clubbing with a friend of mine who used to get drunk and really pursue women hard. I would always come over and say, "Is this guy bothering you?"  They would always laugh and say yes. I met lots of girls just by giving him a little room and then jumping in with both feet. The horrible part is that is exactly how I met my wife (absolute truth). At Jerimiah's here in San Marcos (turned into Spinnakers) then went tits up due to asbestos found in the place. It was inundated with it.  The evil little place did it's evil deed and then went out of business.

Oh well. Power just flickered so I may be out of business here in a bit, got a major storm moving in.

My old KJ gave that song away on me to a drunk, horrible singer even though I had the slip in already. I was PO'd cause it was the first time I was planning on trying that one live.

I never went in for pick-up lines.  They all sounded so trite to me that I figured it must sound even worse to the object of the line.

When I lived in Nebraska a favorite, and effective, line seemed to be "Gee, you sure don't sweat much for a fat girl."  I can't imagine it working anywhere else.

If I was younger I might use, "Hi.  I'm working my way through life by selling my body."  Oh .  . .  I probably would also need to have a much better body than the one I'm inhabiting these days.

Actually, one girl did use a line on me once (only once dammit).  She came up to me and said, "You look so sad."  My response was, "Do you want to make me feel better?"  It was a really dumb response but it was the first thing that popped into my head.  It was so stupid that it did get us to talking.  We had a nice relationship for a period of time and we're still friends.

LMAO some guys are really dumb. How can you not laugh at a pick up line.
I usually follow it by saying - Does that really work on girls or with lines like that you must not get laid much.

Some guys are very slow learners.  I've had friends who subscribed to the theory that if you throw enough mud agains a wall some of it will stick.  So as soon as one lady rejected their line they went looking for another.  As far as I know the pick-up line was their sole form of interaction with the opposite sex.

It's interestig to get the female perspective on this.  I always figured that a pick-up line was so totally lame that the recipient couldn't possibly do anything but laugh at it.  I'm glad Babs was able to confirm that.

I never used pickup lines. I even gave up trying to approach women all together for a while because it seemed that anything I could think of saying sounded like a line.

That was my blue period. LOL

I seem to be stepping in it all over the place today.  Sorry, Fierynette, I didn't mean to exclude you.

I think what I need is a "Groundhog Day" like Bill Murray.  A "do over" would probably be a very good thing for me at this point.
