There has been a mother and baby cat living in the wood pile. Haven't seen the mother 20i3.(the kitty typed the numbers walking on the keyboard) in a few days. So today was save the kitty day. Went out with a fish net and scooped her up. She is really skinny, ribs sticking out. Very loveable kissing my face. She is sitting on the desk in front of the monitor and I have to keep taking her off of the keyboard. Trip to the vet tomorrow for a once over. Another mouth to feed. The dog is a little mad at me, but that will pass as she grows fonder of her baby sister. ![]() |

You are temporarily insane.....Very insane.....Put the cat down and step away from it....Now line it up tween you and the open front door and see how far you can kick it out in the yard....Do this now before it gets any bigger and faster....Aim for the spot between those big soft eyes....Then slam door and play with dog....Your sanity will return as soon as you throw the ball and the dog brings it back. Cat's don't do that...You throw a ball for a cat and it will grab the ball (if it wants to) but never bring it back....Cat's are very selfish and one way, but when you are insane you don't see that. |

strange. The girl I am seeing an I just rescued a cat! It was the same story, cat was creeping around with ribs sticking out, felt sorry for it. But this cat was different than any cat I have ever met. It was more like a dog (in personality) believe it or not. It was a bit bigger than most cats, and it did alot of chirping. It is kinda independent like a cat, but loyal and loving and not too tempermental (like many cats are), like a dog. What a strange and wonderful combination! A few of you may have already guessed that it is in fact a Maine Coon Cat. Look them up on the net. They are so cool, and so beautiful, this one looks kinda like a small bobcat! I never would have believed a cat could act this way, but when I looked it up on the net, the written description was almost exactly how the cat acted. I felt like I was on an episode of the twilight zone. |

While reading this thread wife swap was on tv....And the thoughts struck me the adults get into a knock down drag out fight. The kids adapt and learn new things and ways. But they could swap dogs between any 2 families in the world In 30 minutes the dog or cat would know the house layout all the smells and give the new pack or pride unconditional love. |

Wow, there must be something really wrong with you Keith!  Too bad. That was a good story Bigdog! :worship: ![]() ![]() ![]() I found a tiny feral kitten at work a few years ago....I had to don hotwork gloves to capture it cause it was so wild....I took it in the office and placed on on my desk where it cowered in the corner up against the wall....I placed a jar lid of water and food next to it and just left it alone for several hours till my shift ended.... It ate the food and drank all the water and then crawled in behind the TV and went to sleep, so I had to pull it out and turn it back outside when I left for the night.... Next day, the kitten was easier to catch, but I still needed the gloves....Did the food and water thang again, and just ignored it....it finally looked less scared, so I tossed a string to it and got it to playing....by the end of the shift it was on my shoulder playing with my hair.... I took it home and turned out the back the door for just a minute while I found a box for it.....When I went outside to get it it was gone!......I mean totally gone-had to be a hawk that got it....My back yard is fenced too tight for even a small kitten to escape that quickly, so it had to be one of the many hawks that lurk in the tall trees around the house. Oh well, at least the hawk go fed. |

I've taken in Strange Pussies In the past. Usually Takes awhile for them to warm up to me. After that it's like we've been friends forever. Good Job Big Dog |

Our dog raised our cat from a kitten. They are the best of friends and it is so much fun to watch a 65 lb. Aussie being attacked by a 10 lb. gray tabby. Pepper loves his Angel-Mommy so much and they watch out for each other. Your dog will adjust and get protective and the cat will be a cat-dog in personality I am sure. Bigdog, if I ever get to meet you in "real life" you are gonna get the biggest hug you ever had. You aren't a dog, you are a teddy bear! And Keith, you need another kitten. That way you can moan and groan and complain about "that damn cat" then cuddle with it when nobody is looking. |
