I thought Peter Boyle was a great comedic and dramatic actor. He'll be missed! http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/TV/12/1 ... index.html |

I read that this morning... very sad. He was just a young kid of 71... according to my 89year old dad. |

Ohhhh, the father on "Raymond". Wow, that's sad. He made me laugh with his dry sense of humor. |

I don't think we lost Peter Boyle, I think he just got bored with things down here and decided to move on. I can just picture him at the gates meeting St. Peter dressed in his best tux and top hat singing, "Puttin on da Ritzzzzzz" ![]() RIP brother |

He sometimes physically reminded me a little of Marlon Brando early in his career and was probably as great an actor in his own right. I've seen him in two very good films (and of course "Young Frankenstein"), "Joe" and "The Great Brinks Robbery" (excellent picture, great cast and script Boyle is the acting standout. Peter Falk was in it too and he's another underrated actor. I was thinking the other day, there are maybe only 3 performers still remaining from the "golden age" of cinema (stars before and after 1939): Olivia DeHavilland, her sister Joan Fontaine and...Mickey Rooney. |
