I've got two sets of speakers: Berhinger EUROLIVE PROFESSIONAL B1520 PRO RMS: 400w - Peak: 800w - Impedance: 8 ohms Cerwin Vega Prostax PSX153 RMS: 300w - Peak: 600w - Impedance: 8 ohms --- I've got two amps: Behringer EUROPOWER EP2500 2x1200w Behringer EUROPOWER EP1500 2x700w --- If I wanted to employ both sets of speakers using both amps to maximize output, how would I do that? Please, in layman's terms - thanks. |

Please, in layman's terms - thanks. Well you can run 1 channel of your mixer into the EP1500 feeding the Cerwin Vegas & the other channel of the mixer feeding the EP2500 to the Behringer speakers. You would need to set both amps to PARALLEL mode so that 1 one channel will go to both speakers on each amp. Now you have individual volume control on both sets of speakers as well - like setting up a main room & auxillary room, or setting up speakers in front & back of the room, etc.. |

Well not very efficiently, but yes it could be done, differently than above. An external active crossover would be required if the sub didn't have one built in. You didn't make mention of a sub being in the equation. |

I have a crossover, but never took a close enough look at it to add it to my system. I know it's a different config. Just checking to see if there was an easy way. Instead of the 4 speakers ... could I run two off of one amp and the sub off the other amp in the same config as you describe above? |

You could actually run all 4 off of the EP2500 & bridge the EP1500 to the one sub. What kind of crossover is it? It would be a completely different hook up with the crossover involved, but it would make the sound very good! |

Sending the same set of audio signal to different set of speakers may produced phase cancellation. What it means is that you may not get the system any louder; but may produced muddy sound. To check the phase of 2 speakers aim them towards each other. It works best if they are close to each other. Play something with alot of bass. If they are out of phase the bass will cancel In phase it will increase.. |

It may cancel or it may not depending on how they are hooked up & where there are in the room & with the sub added, any loss of bass up top would be made up on the bottom. 2 different sets of speakers aren't ideal, but yes they can be made to work fine. |

Right Lon What Im trying to say is if they cancel then you reverse the leads on one speaker. |

Right - in an extreme case of phase cancellation, but chances are in his case, it wouldn't be an issue. |
